Esoteric Upgrade/Alexander Weapons after 3.1 patch

I am pretty sure this has been discussed before, but I was very curious. Since Alexander Savage (infact, Savage 4) is the only place where you can actually grab upgrades for any Gordian outfit/accessories, then AS4 for Eso weapon upgrades and Gordian weapon - would you see these drops being implemented as weekly quest for the upgrade by doing Normal Alexander or actually see Echo + Nerf for Savage mode?
In all honesty, we've seen many contents being nerfed and given opportunities for casual and regular players to earn their gears. I am aware 2nd Coil Savage back in ARR was not nerfed, but the gear drops made no difference from the regular one except the fights were challenging.
    What does everyone think?

They're probably going to add in a way to get the eso weapon Horade item soonish. If not, we'll see it in 3.2. If I recall correctly they wanted to start with the non-weapon items and wait for an appropriate time to add the weapon item. The items to upgrade the armour and accessories is easy to get at least, so that's something.

    1. You can't "upgrade" Gordian pieces. They are their own gear. They will never add actual raid gear to some weekly. Only the upgrade items for tome gear. Just like they did with coil

    2. They said the decision to add Gobdip (to upgrade Eso weapons) will be dependent on Thordan clear rate for next patch at least. They'll eventually add it but just when is unclear

I really would like to get my hands on Gordian Sword, but finding static has become such a pain since the timing is very bad for me and it's not flexible for lot of people. Like majority of static is AS3+ too x_X. Let's hope that they'll do something fair for us casual players at least.

I don't think they should implement the Gobdip until 3.18 at the earliest to be honest, give the Anima weapons some longevity.

Even if they were to add gobdip in the next patch with the relic weapons, the relic weapons will have far greater longevity than an upgraded esoteric weapon. I imagine the new relic weapon will be 210 or 215 after the quest is complete, and will be upgraded through more quests later in time. If gobdip becomes available through some means in 3.15 it will mostly be for people who don't want to go through the grind for their relic weapon, be it for their alt or their main job.

From the speculation I've read the relic weapon is going to be i210, but we don't know yet. I think you're failing to see my point though, upgrading the weapon once again takes yet another long grind, that's not longevity, that's almost grinding out another weapon. By the time it can be upgraded to i220 the Gobdip 2.0 will be implemented in The Sky Pirate Saga and again, we're back to the same situation. Alt's do not need close to BiS weapons either, to my knowledge anyway. I'm of the belief that BiS weapons should require some effort, don't want to grind the Anima weapon? Then there's Thordan, by implementing Gobdip you're also invalidating content that's barely 1.5 months old at that point.

Using a weapon for several patch cycles is longevity though. No current weapon will be more relevant than the new relic weapon for such a long period.
And the new Relic weapon will have already invalidated Thordan even if it comes out to be i210. And even if the relic weapon ends at i210 (which I doubt) with 3.15 it will probably still be BiS over anything else available. I doubt that they would make you go through the grind of making your relic weapon and then have it's secondary stats be something that is incompatible with the best possible stat build you could have. Meaning gobdip will still be used only for alt jobs unless you're a person who doesn't feel like doing the relic grind.

Alex Savage takes a lot of skill to clear all 4 floors then however many weeks it takes you to get your weapon drop. The relic weapon will more then likely take a couple of weeks to grind out before it finally reaches its final stage at 210. Where as the Eso weapon takes 2 weeks to get the tomes for then in that time you would also be able to get the upgrade item (if it existed in Void Ark). Therefore you can upgrade Eso weapon depending on Thordan clears. Not everyone can do Alex Savage, not everyone wants to grind a Relic. So they can get Thordan weapons. Hopefully you understand how this will work now.
