It sounds like you're more upset that you died than the fact that the GLA didn't know all his abilities. As others have pointed out, people can't learn how to play their classes if they aren't in parties, and quite frankly party play is a new thing in FFXIV world...at least exp party play. It sounds like the guy DID start using Provoke and other abilities when they were pointed out to him, so maybe you should cut him some slack. As others have pointed out, many different classes in game need skills from other classes to be 'at their best'.

Also, I liked your little dig that CNJ should know they're healers by now. You do realize more of their spells are DD magic spells right? Oh, and THM is the better tank/ exp party healer with Sacrifice. Add to that, believing that a GLA should automatically know skills they need to learn from other classes (which is unfair to expect in an exp party since they could be ranking a first class), maybe you're the one who needs to chill and learn a little more about party play.

Lastly, why did you not get a heal from the mage...and if they were healing you and that still didn't keep you alive and the mage didn't pull hate, you we're probably playing your job wrong. I mean come on, you died 4 times...maybe holding back a little on your damage while the tank got use to the party's play style might have helped too.

Ok so let's see....I'm upset that I died, yes, but I died because the tank wasn't doing his job and didn't even know what his skills did. He knew his weaponskill and a few self buffs....that's it. You may not know how to tank, but you should at least know what your skills and abilities do. You should also know the role of a tank in a party and which classes do which roles.

CNJ should know that they are healers. They have the most cures and the most raises. They also have the most buffs. They have the most DD spells as well, yet THMs are more powerful. Sacrifice is better for party heal? Last time I checked, THM can't AoE heals. (another reason why CNJ is the healer and not THM) As for the GLA not knowing skills from other classes, his CNJ was lv5....he had cure...and never used it. The ARC was curing more than he was...

Why did I not get a heal from the mage? I was the mage...the THM...who's heals consume HP...The archer and I were doing fine as long as the GLA had hate....but after 1 ws from the arc or a single sacrifice 1 from me, it was over.

People should learn or be willing to learn party play if they want to be invited to a party. Otherwise, go back to the solo aspect of the game.

People should also be willing to help someone learn if they discover that player struggling (as long as the player isn't a lost cause and will take advice). Just cause someone fucks up a few times, doesn't mean it's all said & done.
MMO communities are very juvenile & judge someone based on just a few encounters.
Get with the times, people (stop tossing N words & F words out, most MMO players are in their 20-30's!) It's like an adult with the mindset of a child. It's a scary reality. We should be evolved past this by now.

Half the time you get the same people who weren't that great, but they are all on VoIP. This helps everyone know whats going on & what to do, but then those in VoIP easily ridicule someone for not listening in because they fail to even want to communicate to that person through chat. Thus gimping themselves & wasting their own time even more. As if they are of some grand notoriety over everyone not in VoIP. Good LSs will usually have officers who will chat, but it's becoming even more rare.

These are the kinds of things that should stop if anyone cares about newer players not sucking so much. It's so easy to talk shit, yet more beneficial to help someone out. Ego, 1-uping, & AFKing in town really isn't something to be proud of, it's boring.

You are 100% right in this statement. The community needs to stop shunning, or should I say discriminating against people who aren't as well versed in party play as others. In stead Help them understand what they should be doing in a party situation. It's completly understandable for players not knowing party style as FF unlike any other MMO out there.

Put down your harsh words and be a constructive part of a social community and not a destructive one.

im an archer. When doing raids, i often became the tank, because most gla's didnt have any skills that took enmity. better with a weak tank that can take hate than a strong tank that cant take hate.

That is probably the dumbest approach Ever.Cover is a skill not needed when soloing,same for provoke.Solo glads dont use it,instead you Kicking him out your team,when its maybe the first time he ever joined a party is just stupid,and he probably dont even want to try to get a party anymore because of people like you.What you Should have done was simply Explain why he needed those skills and when he needs to use them,SIMPLE.but you kick him out and start a crying thread about it ? What a f---ing sad and low approach.You're def helping the community get better this way !! Way to go!

QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ read my posts first, kiddie. I told him that he needed to use it. He did use it...once...and it worked. After that, he refused to use it anymore because he didn't want to be hit....THE TANK DIDN'T WANT TO GET HIT. Yeah....dude needs to read up on the class...he needs to know the class....that's what this thread is about...people not knowing how to play their class. He didn't even know what provoke was. He knew how to use red lotus blade, that's about it.

all I said in my OP was that people need to learn their classes. The guy needed to learn his class and refused to use the skills necessary to play his class properly....so he was kicked. The same goes for the CNJ in a later party who refused to heal, at all, even though he was the only mage in the party.
