Serious game play problem with possible solution

I have recently been leveling up bard and have been doing void ark raids and I noticed that a bards damage as well as other classes reliance on damage over time (dots). When it comes to bosses their are limited spaces for debuffs and dots and boss buffs. This causes a congestion of status effects and often times my dots won't even make it in.

I highly suggest that the solution can be that if multiples of the same status effect simply stack icons raid wide rather than place additional icons of the same debuff or dot like how some bosses gain stacks that are not addition icons on the status bar to reduce status congestion. Many don't even realize that their dot's are not even effecting the boss.

Two things about this suggestion, one, the total status effect limit is greater than the display limit which to me sounds like the limit is quite intentional. Two: I believe the issue is something different with void ark as I've seen status effects not get applied even before the display limit was reached. It happens to my trick attacks fairly often.

    The DOT limit is 60.

I highly doubt that all 24 people are using enough DOTs to reach that limit.

I use SMN in Void Ark and even though sometimes I can't see the duration of the buff, it's still active since when I use Fester it does full damage.

You'll know if a dot doesn't apply because the floating text will say "no effect". If you don't see that, then the dot is applied even if the display doesn't show it

I've seen trick attacks get used but fail to apply with under 20 applied statuses in Void Ark, never ran into that in any of the Crystal Tower raids.

That's probably more due to the person missing the rear positional.

Void Ark bosses turn a LOT so it's not surprising to miss positionals

Void Ark is mostly just invisible status icons. It's there, you just don't see the timer. If you refresh it before it runs out it will keep the invisible icon as well.

The only "non-applying" status is when a ninja tries to suiton irminsul while it's immune to ranged...physical? Not sure which one exactly, but when it resists you won't get the status applied to enable trick attack.

I think it's when it resists magical.

I'm fairly certain that Suiton is counted as magical.

This is true. While its nice that my dots are landing, SE should find a way to put your own dots in front of other peoples so you can see them clearly on your hud. On jobs like smn and bard, where dots make up a big portion of their damage, it is hard to keep track of.

I have to agree with this. And it's not just debuffs, but buffs too.

One time, Irminsul had hit the cap on debuffs. Then gained immunity to magic. Thing is, because of the cap, it didn't show up, **even when DoTs fell off enough**. The only way we could tell was magic attacks doing no damage, and the fact that Sawtooth had the ranged immunity. This was very bad and anyone new to the run would've been extremely confused.

    The display should:
    - ALWAYS show debuffs applied by you, even if the visible limit has been reached.
    - ALWAYS show buffs, since they are very important. Examples include Irminsul/Sawtooth's immunity, Hellsclaw/Pale Rider's counter stances, and plenty of others.
    - ONLY show other people's debuffs if there is room to do so. In other words, these should have the lowest priority to be displayed.
    - INDICATE in some way that further buffs/debuffs cannot be applied due to the cap. The tiny, greyed out flying "BIO has no effect" is both unexpected and difficult to see, making it virtually unnoticeable until you get "FESTER has no effect" and then you're all like "wut? welp, zero dps for me!" which, for hunts, is kind of a big deal since that's your contribution and thus your reward down the toilet.

No, this is most certainly a problem; I first noticed this on Machinist in Void ark, where I'd place my wildfire (obviously there being a visual limit I don't expect to see the wildfire) However, the problem here being that my wildfire damage will neither appear on my screen and it will not make its trademark beeping sound, which leads me to believe that it was dropped in favour of other buffs; furthermore, while this has happened only a handful of times, the majority of times I've noticed It has been with DoT/Debuff heavy teams, (Lots of SMN's, BRD's, NIN). If someone has any information that might shed light on this matter feel free to share
