The Warden's Paean should work on more meaningful debuffs.

Let's face it, BRD's don't even give up their shooty time to use their decent songs like foe, when are they ever going to use the warden's paean that barely works on anything?

The only way I can see this move being useful is if it worked on debuffs that actually mattered and by stopping it would allow the raid to significantly increase dps.

I'm talking about tank swap debuffs. If BRD could subvert tank swap mechanics then we could bring another dps instead of a second tank.

E.G phoenix's revelation, if warden's paean prevented the revelation debuff then Phoenix could be solo tanked, allowing the group to bring another dps, or even just allowing the OT to full time dps which would significantly increase raid damage.

Or Titan ex, if paean prevented vulnerability down then the same thing could be done there.


(I'm aware both these examples are 50 content and paean isn't available for them and that Titan can be solo tanked anyway, these are examples of the types of things in future content that bard should be able to prevent with paean).

I don't know much about Bard or how this move stopped debuffs. But Monk's One Ilm Punch isn't much use either unless you pvp so we're right there with you.

A single job should not be able to change the dynamics of a 2/2/4 group composition. That just screams balancing issues and literally toss MCh out of the side if that ends up being more favorable (and probably will be because you're ignoring core mechanics of the fight).

A good change to paeon would be a long cooldown (say 3min) that works as a preventative debuff to those that are cleansable, a retroactive fey caress if you will. The problem with it right now is that it has a 3 second cast time for you to literally be doing a healer's job, and it's not a feasible one either because most debuff/cleanse gimmicks tend to target random players, usually without a precursor. It's effectively useless for something like A3s if it's not going to remove throttle. It can prevent throttle from being placed, but you can't predict who it's going to hit.

Outside of PvP, I use it on Warriors using Berserk and on Healers/Ranged DPS in Fractum just in case the Tank doesn't stop Voice of the Dragon. That's it. Albeit, I still really love the concept and enjoy any meaningful excuse to use it despite it being quite a niche skill. I have no problem dropping my DPS a smidge if it makes anyone else's life easier. I couldn't care less about something so insignificant unless I was raiding and trying to meet some check.

WP isn't worth me getting rid of a WAR's Berserk debuff. It is, however, completely worth it for anyone casting magic for me to stop and use Foe's.

If they give it an mp cost (to balance the convenience) close but better than esuna and made it ogcd it would be perfect as is. (Maybe increasing duration to near a minute)

I mostly use it on WARs when they use Berserk. Funny thing, though, when I'm in DF farming Alexander Normal for Anima items, when I'm on BRD, I get PLDs and DRKs. When I go NIN, I get WARs, PLDs, and DRKs lol...

I really don't get why this isn't an Ogcd ability. :/ Every raid tier bard I know says the same: "If it was Ogcd it would be worth casting on the warrior during berserk, but it's totally not worth sacrificing 3 seconds of dps for it when 1 of the healers can do it just aswell"

And I agree, although I don't like it how SE keeps putting more and more pressure on healers. It makes it really though to find suitable healers for raids soon if this keeps going on.

Please just make TWP an Ogcd, with maybe a long CD on it.

Point is, the devs made those debuffs in order to enforce a 2 tanks composition. So you won't see your idea ever in the game.
