Welp, I've just been kicked from a dungeon while doing the leveling roulette. I reported these guys for kicking me, and in the reply I got this:



So I basically was telling our monk to start caring about the dungeon's mechanics, and even about the positionals, which monks are all about. He said he was lagging really badly, which was pretty much a lie since if you're lagging badly enough to ignore the mechanics or not care about positionals, then everyone could notice it. The thing is, does the text in that picture mean they basically won't get punished? I got kicked because I kept telling them about that, they just didn't like me telling them so I got kicked, wasting quite some of my time.

If that's the case then I just can't see how could SE come with something so open to abuse. If I join whatever through the DF with a friend and for whatever reason we don't like one guy, then can we just start a silly dispute and kick him afterwards? That makes no sense to me, but that's what seems to be the case according to that. And it's even dumber having in mind you can kick someone with a single positive vote. Come on.

SE put in the kick feature then because a bunch of people bitched about being possibly kicked they put in a feel good system about how you can get the person who hurt your feelings reported. But they don't care. Just like everything in this game. It's either something from another FF ripped straight from it or combined with a trope from TVtrope (Right not Kain? He doesn't deserve a name because he really is just a rip off of Kain. It's not like he's been MC'd twice too, right? And JUST after a big feat was done? I mean, like taking the last dark crystal. Or the last eye of a dragon?)

Uh sometimes I lag so bad I just stand in AOEs... because I won't make it out of them anyway.

GM's are obligated to not take sides and can only act when there is a definitive act of harassment that is nigh impossible to dispute.

Unless you can absolutely prove that you were being harassed by another player, then simply it is a player dispute in which two or more individuals had contending desires or feelings about a situation which is outside of the given power of a GM to mediate.

In this situation you feel as if you were wronged, however to the person you were speaking to it may have been you that was harassing them which led to the vote kick. If they were then punished for what in their mind was using the tools available to avoid harassment, how is that fair?

While you suspect that the situation was what you believe it was, there is no proof.

There are at least two sides to every story and as I have already said, GM's can't take sides. They need a pretty cut and dry situation to be able to dole out just punishment. They are nobody's personal vindication inquisition.

Sohm Al is the worst dungeon for me, I only lag on the last boss. I can't even see any of the ground AoEs half the time and I usually end up standing in all of them (except the comet things, I can see those!). I warn my parties about it every time, and sometimes I get kicked for "being lazy and not dodging". Sometimes other people can't see your lag, so if that guy said he was lagging bad he might have been telling the truth.

This is not necessarily true. If it reaches the point where the game completely stops for the person in question, yes, everyone can see them lagging and the DC symbol will begin to appear. For me however, I have 700ms ping due to the way my internet is, which produces consistent lag, (IE: Everything I see is over half a second behind anything anyone else sees), but without the effect of other people being able to tell that I'm lagging. From their point of view, it just looks as if I'm slow to move out of AoEs. This lag is FAR beyond what most people would consider "lagging really badly", and makes it quite difficult for me to hit positionals in many instances, because by the time I see what position a boss is in, and use the skill, there is a significant chance that they have turned to preform an attack that doesn't target the tank. For example, in HW dungeons I can hit with my NIN's Trick Attack, (well the debuff part), only about 75% of the time, at best, on bosses with some going far less because they turn so often for special attacks. And that's with a tank that stays stationary....

EDIT: I'd also like to say that in the case of my lag, I have been consistently playing with it since I first started playing the game almost a year ago, and as such I've gotten good at compensating for it. For players who don't lag ordinarily, and suddenly find themselves dealing with lag in a run, the chance to hit a positional or dodge an AoE drops FAR lower than what I stated simply because they are not used to the timing involved with compensating for high levels of lag..... As for the rest of your post, it sounds like you were harassing them more than anything by repeatedly telling them that they weren't playing right, and complaining that they weren't to your standards. By rights, if your logic of what is "file a report" worthy, then they should be filing one against you for trying to tell them that they have to play to your standards, and that they were lying about having connection issues because you couldn't see them. In answer to your question, their vote kick was very much justified as differences of opinion are a reasonable excuse for kicking a player, particularly if at least half the party, (2 out of four players in a run have to agree to a kick for it to pass), agreed that you were causing trouble in some way or form. Otherwise, any player that was kicked would be able to file a report because, "refuses to heal and only spends time in Cleric Stance" or "keeps charging forward without the tank and wiping the party" are technically differences of opinion in terms of how the game can be played. If differences of opinion weren't a reasonable excuse to kick, then players would be forced to stay in parties that were legitimately harassing them by refusing to help each other or by constantly complaining that they were terrible at their role, which would just make for a miserable experience for every one involved....

I agree with Gamer. I am affected by the same Virus that forces me to move 1-2 sec before anything happens on my screen but others are not aware of it, Not at all.

It is extremely wrong of you to come to the board and label someone as liar without being 100 % of what you say based only on what you think you know, this is kind of diffamatory, in my opinion. Would you like to know that someone called you a liar and all sorts of names in public ?

Yeah, I missed the part about Estinien's Paladin best friend, feelings for a woman he can never attain, and where the original Kain had a deeply personal hatred for a race that defined him as a person. But I'm guessing you were too busy whining about Final Fantasy things being in a Final Fantasy game to notice any of that.
