    I'm still having the same issues. Bluetaro I highly doubt it is your router as I'm currently connected directly to the modem and am still dropping packets like crazy. Hopefully they look into this issue soon because it's very frustrating trying to play with this lag.

    You're right. Having issues directly connected to the modem as well =/ This is not good. I don't experience latency issues on other games, and even when I'm R0'ing on FFXIV I'm still able to browse the web or run other online applications while I'm lagged out.

    It makes no sense and I hope we can get a response on what we can do next

    Same problem with Cox communications. Also same situation as far as having two chars on two comps, and one lagging while the other isn't. For some reason this feels eerily familiar back around the time FFXI was about 5-6 years old. When there was a really huge update, it took a couple days for people to get it. Then somehow there was some kind of connectivity issues that occured only at certain ISPs. Some people couldnt get past POL screen, some constantly had R0. Idk if its related, but i don't recall what was discovered. It eventually returned to normal..

    It sucks that this is happening to all of us but I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one. I am going to keep looking for ways to fix this lag and hope for a response back from SE

    I just went through everything you described Bluetaro. The direct connection from the cable modem works fine, but the rest of it is constant R0 and it's gotten progressively worse with each day. I can't even change gear anymore without a 30 second lag spike for each piece of equipment. Even the chat log lags now.

    I've been through 3 routers now and its only XIV. I tried two other online games, playstation network, xbox live, and just normal internet usage and everything works fine. The game is now completely unplayable for me. My ISP is also Cox.

    Hopefully the issue will go away with time, cause I cant think of anything else than it being XIV's horrible servers.

    And here I thought I was alone until just yesterday another one of my LSmates mentioned getting constant R0 spikes. The chat window works just fine for both of us, sending and receiving messages in real time, however the rest of our screen is completely frozen, we can move our PC's about but can't execute commands, and everyone else just stands there stationary. This happens to me INCREDIBLY often while I'm attempting Ifrit... Which obviously is a bad place to be having 30-1 min R0 spikes. I really do hope SE looks into this soon... my LS doesn't want me to come along to Ifrit anymore because of this

    Ya I wouldn't spend too much effort troubleshooting your own connection, I definitely wouldn't replace equipment if you have no issues with other games. This is confirmed occurring to a great deal amount of people of multiple ISPs and in different countries. Let's just hope it gets resolved quickly. This is a terrible thing to happen just as this game is rebounding.

    Same issue/ Cox Cable is my ISP provider. Direct connection to the cable modem is still resulting in random R0 and frequent freezes. Again this did not occur till after 1.19. I've even tried opening all the ports on the router with no improvement in performance.

    Arliman, the lag didn't start for you until after 1.19? That's interesting because now that you mention it, I remember distinctly that this R0 issue was non-existent last year when I purchased the game late September.

    I rerolled onto Selbina after 1.19 released and that's when I started noticing all these lag spikes... I wonder if there's a connection there.

    Yup, zero problems with latency till this last patch. I don't know if they broke anything when they messed with the market wards, but the constant R0 is making it very irritating to play. To make matters worse I've discovered that I can lock myself in active mode if trying to swap out to passive as an R0 begins to happen, and has left me locked in menus with NPCs for upwards of 3 minutes. What I don't understand is why the game isn't disconnecting me when I have such a long pause/freeze. I really hope this is fixed soon because its giving me a great reason not to subscribe come November.
