Frequent R0 lag spikes and freezing

I've had issues with the game coming out of sync as well. I'd find myself in a situation where my party members would claim that I was standing right in front of them mounted on some invisible chocobo not doing a thing when I was actually fighting monsters on my screen and playing like normal. I wasn't disconnected from the server or anything but I had to log out for the game to correct itself.

I luckily haven't had any R0 issues since our last emergency maintenance on October 27th, however, 30 mins ago, 10:30PM EST (the usual R0 time), it's back!!! /le sigh again, let's hope tomorrow sorts it again!

Yep, I hope tomorrow's maintenance addresses something that will improve our latency issues. Who knows? Maybe it'll be fixed. /crosses fingers

So idk if you guys had alot of R0 yesterday like me but figured id report it. It was borderline as bad as it was a few weeks ago sunday. 7-10pm CST. I doubt it was due to earthquakes, I live like about 25 miles from the epicenter here in oklahoma(not sure who all has heard about it we are getting rocked daily lol).

I've been having this problem, too. And it still remains here, and actually it is happening to me real frequent, in every 2 minutes or so I see 'R0'. It was happening before the last maintenance and it still happens after that. Guess it is not our connection, since we all connect from a huge variety of countries with different ISS and router/modems. This has to be their server issues. And they should find a solution asap cuz this is completely killing will to play, at least it does for me.

So .. fourth day and we're still having the same problem where we get R0 for long periods of time where we can only chat and the game is unplayable. It also happens all day, regardless of the peak times or anything. One thing I've noticed is that I couldn't connect to Square Enix official website during the time I had R0 in the game (or specifically the page you're redirected to login to forums), and then my connection was established for both at the same time.

The question is, is SE actually looking into this? This is killing my will to play the game as well, I mean how many times do we have to be disapppointed to quit the game for good?

I had this exact same problem for a few days. Either I would R0 and be unable to do anything or I couldn't log in at all, but both times noticed I was unable to get to FFXIV's main page or the forums...

My solution was to reset my router, which would bring both back up to working properly... for at least a couple hours, and then the whole thing would start over again. The situation was only really resolved after I ran a speed test during one of these "lag sessions" and saw that I was getting somewhere in the range of 1mb-200kb connection speed. I called my ISP and haven't had the problem since.

Btw, this has just came to my mind that when I'm having R0 problem, my screen freezes and can't use any skill or switch between active/passive mode but there is one thing I still can do and it is the game chat. I receive any that sent by other players, but not sure about if they also receive mine. But it is weird, when game play completely stops but chat keeps coming to your screen. If SE uses different servers for gameplay and chat, this might also lead to an idea about this being a server issue.
