the catastrophe in the 7th Umbral Era will likely involve the moon Dalamud. I mean they've put a lot of lore into the moon coming down and killing us all, even going so far as to implicate the Garleans.

-When side-quests were first introduced there was an NPC that commented on the fact that Dalamud seemed to be growing larger and of course turning red.

-In the early GC cutscenes Cid is seen muttering about Meteor.

-The bombard event featured large bombs which descended from the heavens upon small meteors. Pieces of these bombards were made into earrings in the shape of the twin moons in the following event which were stolen by Moon Mice.
-I can't remember the specific quote but after completing the low rank Ifrit quest the elezen in the robe suggests that the Garleans may be behind Dalamuds impending descent to Eorzea.

This last sentence in bold, pretty much makes me want to pay and see the whole event unfold. I can only imagine what a spectacular ride its going to be

You guys are just missing the whole point. the developers made a game that needs to be remade because it cant be fixed. I can pay the sub just fine, im not poor lol, but when there are just as enjoyable games with more content for free than this game and they arent charging it feels like a kick to the groin being asked to pay while we wait for them to make the game it should of been. anyone who says this game is fine, which is many of you apparantly, are facing an unwinable arguement because the actual developers of the game say it needs to be remade. Therefor, this game is bad. If the makers of the game are saying it needs to be remade, how can you argue that its fine how it is? it does not make any sense at all. What we are saying is this: We are enjoying playing the game even though it is a work in progress. We understand that we should pay SE for this enjoyment. Because frankly, free or not, 'finished or not, if you aren't having fun, then you shouldn't be playing. If however, you are enjoying your time in the game, then yes, SE deserves to be compensated for that.

It is no skin off our noses if you miss this next year, the cool 'they blew up the freakin map! event'...and really, whenever are you gonna get to see a MMORPG game with a storyline that officially ends again? Because what they are really doing is 'blowing this game up, and allowing those of us who played to step out of the cloud of dust, gears, levels, gils and all into a bright, sunny FFXIV 2.0. If this doesn't interest you or seems 'not worth the money' don't pay. We're saying, we think this is worth $13/month.

OK let me say that I'm not a complainer, I enjoy most all things. But, to be asked to pay to play a game that they have to remake because the game was made wrong the first time is insulting. I feel offended to be asked to pay money to play a game that the (new) developers feel they need to remake almost entirely to be a fully enjoyable experience. I can go into alot of detail for this, but we all know this game is not up to par, especially being as this is Square Enixs product, one of the biggest game companys today.

I am making this post and requesting that all reasonable individuals agree with me and please sign to this forum to show this not a reasonable course for action. Thank you.

Watsuuuuup! Dude, its a game and try your best to feel excited instead of pessimistic or skeptical. I respect your posted opinion and will try to share with your concerns.
1st off, try not to mention the word "offended" because its totally turning the tide on other players and even the DEV team who is doing their best to make the game better for you. No one feel the same way you do and it's a universal function in society to charge for service for the better part living... and don't forget of economy.

I agree with you to a certain extent... that PvP won't benefit the social expansions of this new MMORPG but lets think out of the box for a second or two. Think on how SE implemented PvP in FFXI. There's measure on how you can use the system with out loosing the fun factor. As educated that you may seem, look to alternative arguments- to make what the majority of people have look at "PvP"- see it differently.

SE plans to release a new version of FFXIV 2.0 on the PS3 and FFXIV will not be the same. If there's a motive to take part in PvP, it'll most likely be contained in the new colosseum. For the most part, we don't yet know how SE will manage PvP in FFXIV but I'm sure it's a work in progress. I look forward to PvP but not in the sense of "Ganking player left and right like in other MMOs (if you know what I mean).

If one-on-one PvP was to be the main stage of events, I suggest that SE looks at it as a privilege and something to 'work hard for and earn' It should work off tiers and stages, much like tournaments where you work your way up the ranks, i got ideas(Um, I threw a lot out there because I have my own ideas) but I don't want to steal your thunder,lol!

I encourage you not to resist the changes with the "adding of PvP" but try to stand up to "bad rep" it has and propose ideas so it doesn't ruin this MMO. SE encourages hard work, team work, fun, adventure and exploration and good social experiences.

If your reading this SE, live up to these expectations. Don't mirror other games and steal their ideas but work of ours.

Remembering back then when I was researching "alakazaam" for FFXI, I mentioned ideas that somehow made it to the game. It was casual posting and many people favored and supported it. I hope it can happen more here more often.

I bought this game, special addition at release. I then decided to go ahead and bench it for a while till they got things fixed and recently started playing again. Now not to be just another voice in the crowd about the game not being ready and STILL having to pay for it… But how would you feel if you bought a movie and none of the CG was added? Seeing the green screens and all I bet you would be a little bit peeved, at the very least. Compared to other leading P2P games out there this one is still way down in the charts, and unless there is a huge revamp of the game it will never compete with those games. It has been long enough since launch for this to happen that everything huge should be fixed by now, but it definitely is not. Shoddy UI, poor agro system, hit boxes from hell, the worst “auction house” system ever, the list goes on. I love games made by square enix, and I always have. Final Fantasy has been my favorite growing up, but I’m starting to think that has stopped since they released XIII and I don’t see them turning it around. Sorry folks, Square needs to get back to its roots if they want to survive.
