Gilgamesh is also the unofficial asshole server. Just be warned if you come over here. It's not casual friendly.

Well I just got home from work and made a character on Sargatanas(hope I spelled I right) If any of you are on that server my guys name is Gideon Cross. Thanks for all the help and info.
Interesting. I'm trying to decide between Balmung and Gilgamesh.
I know that Gilgamesh is considered the "Raid Server" and although I'm confident in my skill, I don't want to be part of a server with so many pro wannabes, the "official" reddit and 4ch server.
Balmung is the RP server. I have no interest in RP, but I think that it makes the server more alive, to see people RPing in cities that are usually empty here in Jenova. (Ul Dah for example). But I heard that 99% of the players don't have a clue on how to play the game and just want to ERP in the quicksand.
It's hard to choose between the big servers based on stereotypes (Gilg = Pro Wannabes / Balm = ERP cat girls). :|

LMAO, whoever told you that is dead wrong. I don't know anything about Gilgamesh, but Balmung is an awesome server, and I have never RP'd once during my time in game.Balmung is the RP server. I don't doubt it. Just saying what I've read after some "googling", and what some players say in reddit.
Yeah. I read the same thing about Balmung being the RP server. Balmung and Gilgamesh seems impossible to get on anyway. I wake up for work at 5:45 am est and have tried, even at that time of morning the servers are still locked. I created characters on Levi,Hyper,Excal, and Sarg. I figured I just see how each server is before I commit to one.
I started on Cactuar and have always been happy with Cactuar. The server has a good population with a regular downtime overnight. Several large FC's and even some small casual ones. I guess where you go depends on you and what you're looking for but I'd always suggest it as a possible server to call home.
HHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
You all forgot that CACTUAR IS a High population, some nights FULL, server.
Greg, Sargentanis, exodus, and Balmung are not the only populated servers.
OP, almost half if not all servers people here listed are for heavy end game raiders. Elitist punks who make you want to leave those servers lol. Hence why Mr Happy keeps jumping from server to server.
Cactuar is a semi end game raiding server. Lot's of grown up's too. Hell my FC, MYSIDIA, http://mysidia.enjin.com/ , has 50 to 150 people on all the time. We have full members too.
Amen, Cactuar FTW !!I started on Cactuar and have always been happy with Cactuar. The server has a good population with a regular downtime overnight. I've found Zalera to be a nice little place to hang my hat. It is a smaller pop and the raiding community is small but growing! I've been on this server for about a year, and I have enjoyed it greatly. There is a little something here for almost anyone.
