Under the section talking about third party programs note the lines that say,
"•Modifying, analyzing, integrating and reverse engineering game data
•Utility creation and distribution"
Oh ? Goodbye theorycraft.
I'd wager that you're spot on. /threadI'd wager it falls under
2.5 Data Mining. You may not intercept, mine or otherwise collect information from the Game using unauthorized third party software.

A parser is a third party program that collects information from the battle log (game), compiles it, then sends it back to you. As such, it's technically forbidden. However SE is willing to turn a blind on this offense if you do not use the compiled information in a way that negatively affects other players.

This is why some people do not want parsers.

Just want to say that if you're parsing to improve, you aren't using it to get "the hard numbers and single out players". You are using it to find improvements in your rotation, places you can improve uptime on dots, amount of times you used certain skills, and places in the encounter where it might be better to use or hold different skills. The number just lets you know definitively whether you made the improvements you were aiming for.i don't find parsers as useful as people like to make out, they're hard numbers sure, but you don't need those hard numbers if you know your team well enough. Help everyone improve together, instead of singling out those who didn't do quite as well and telling them exactly how bad they performed.
