    PLD and their Lore Tome Disadvantage

    As it currently stands, the Lore Shield is the best shield in the game. The Lore Sword is not. Because of how the Lore Sword and Shield are both required to trade in, a PLD is forced to spend 700 Lore they could spend on other pieces for a sword they may never actually use.

    So by "Disadvantage" you mean they are equal to everyone who has to pay the same amount of lore for their weapon?

    No, I think he's referring to trading them in for an upgrade. Since you can't upgrade the shield without the sword, you're forced to spend additional lore tomes for it.

    I guess it's one of those things where they felt like they just wanted it to be standard across the board now. Everyone else has to buy theirs all at once so I assume it was just to make it an even standard for the future.

    The other option is forcing PLD to buy the Sword and Shield together as well. No more spending 300 tomes for the shield week 1, you have to wait til week 3 and have the token to get it.

    I would guess they wanted to do this, but couldn't with the way the buy screen works currently

    PLD seems to be always screw on gear. Drops from boss even, why not just drop the sword and shield together.

    Indeed, only time a paladin gets screwed in that situation is if there are two or they came as something else for whatever reason. While I can understand the argument, I have to agree it would be unfair as the shield is the cheaper option and they wouldn't even feel much of a dent in tomes from it.
