New taming ability available to certain jobs and classes after version 2.0.

Release timing of the above abilities is to coincide with addition of new jobs and classes.

Summoned and tamed pets will not count as party members, and will develop over time. Release of a

"companion" system for these pet NPCs to fight alongside PCs.

For instance, one character has a chocobo out in that picture from the first post, which is shown to be his companion. That'd be really cool if it's the chocobo you got from patch 1.19 and even cooler if you could possibly ride it into battle later on. However, it is still awesome that you can even summon your chocobo to fight alongside you.

For reference the above name plate for the Chocobo seems to be "DELITA'S STEED", but he doesn't seem to be on the chocobo and might be the character viewing the fight in first person view. I don't see his name anywhere in the picture, except in the party menu.

Any thoughts?

If you look in the party window the chocobo is listed, it's Boco. Has both HP and MP bars. And is buffed.
