Curiel Root Preventing XP earning on both character and chocobo

Yesterday I gave my chocobo curiel root for the first time. The first mob I attacked we gained xp as normal but additional mobs didn't grant any xp to me or my chocobo. I believe I was in the East Shroud at the time. The emergency maintenance was coming up so I didn't report it then.

Today I started doing my beast tribe quests, summoned my chocobo without using the curiel root and my chocobo and I still did not earn any experience. I changed maps and it didn't fix the issue. Dismissed my chocobo and it didn't fix the issue. Restarted the game and it didn't fix the issue. Went to the churning mists and finally earned some xp.

I resummoned my chocobo and we both earned xp in churning mists and coerthas west highlands. Went back to outer la noscea and summoned my chocobo and neither of us earned any xp.

In sum, I rarely get xp with my chocobo since I used the curiel root on it but I seem more likely to get xp in higher level areas. Before I gave it curiel root it didn't matter where we were, both I and my chocobo still earned xp for killing mobs.

As far as I'm concerned this puts a severe restriction on where and how I can play the game. Please fix this issue.

I believe that the areas you are not getting exp is due to you and your Chocobos level being too high for that area. When you went to churning mists the level difference is less and you are able to earn exp.

For example, a level 59 adventurer won't earn exp from a level 1 mob, but will from a level 55 mob.

Curiel Root increases XP earned by the Chocobo right? Have you actually trained up the Choco with Curiel Root to get the XP bonus?

If not just use Gyshal Greens to summon your Chocobo for combat. To actually train the Chocobo to benifit from Curiel Root you have to train him up with the root while stabled. After some time it becomes his favorite treat and then you actually get the XP buff when you summon him with it.

Hope I'm tracking you right there also the above poster is correct in that portion of outleveling an area.
