I loved Giruvegan, it was my favourite place in FFXII it was what I wish it was Diadem savage (or something like that), a labyrinth to explore with great rewards and the most powerful enemies. I wish it would come back in some sort of form here in FFXIV.

If we're going to get 'exploration content' then it makes sense to wait until the technical limitations are cast aside to ensure that we get a lot of bang for our buck. Exploration content that is different each time due to random elements is infinitely more interesting to me than exploration content that is always the same. Diadem might as well have been replaced with a third dungeon - because that is, essentially, what it feels like to me. They did say, in fairness, that it's the bare bones for now - perhaps they'll adjust it in the future to be more engaging?

I actually sat down and started to play it a few months ago but you can't change the camera inversion for left/right (ff12 literally made me an inverted player) but only the up/down inversion stuck with me >.< so I didn't enjoy playing as much as did before lol

I'd love something like Giruvegan in FFXIV, but not Giruvegan itself. I agree, FF12 had some amazing dungeons and I'd wish the dev team would take cues from that game on how to design dungeons.

Or just give me FFXII HD on PS4. Seriously SE, there is PS2 emulation on PS4 now. What's your excuse?

There were whole areas that weren't even needed for the story, that you could explore before you had any reason to be there at all for side quests. Especially noticable after XIII.
To this day, FFXII remains a shining example (along with Xenoblade I'd say) of how you can remove the classic world map from an RPG and still have all the exploration, multiple travel methods, knowledge of fictional geography, etc. that came with it. There is an unfortunately large number of games that simply removed it because "it's old" and forgot to add back the reasons we had it in the first place.

I'm with you on this. I'd like to see a big, complex, time consuming but interesting instance. I don't always get a lot of time to play but once in a while I long for a bit if the old days, when exploring & learning was part of the experience. I'd happily spend two hours in wonderment every now and then.

That being said, many (most) players don't come from the same old-school background I do (I played Spectrum 48k games on release) & crave instant satisfaction. It is this which means that any content of this type has to be soloable from day one. There's the ability in FFXIV to tune instances & they could do solo, duo & light versions if they wanted. Rewards would be the same whatever level with overall coffer numbers representing team size.

It could even be structured like present raids & have future continuations. What I would do is make it "one completion per patch" so it's not farmable but you can run with friends without coffers.

I'd like to see Hydaelyn be an open world area. She's huge and may be fun to explore like, cave systems and stuff.
