    Should I be annoyed?

When going into a dungeon or any easy content, I just try to stick with the mentality of "No wipe, no gripe". However, I've been becoming more and more annoyed with lazy DPS. Especially ninjas.

Whenever getting into a dungeon with lazy support DPS I just want to scream. Like really, why bother play bard if you refuse to play any songs? But its even worse with ninjas, since their support abilities have no impact on their dps, as if weaving 1 cd between their gcd is difficult.

I also hate it when dps single-target attack on a big pull. I've been in a dungeon with a blm, where I pulled big and he's like "lol nice pull bro" *casts Fire IV*. As a paladin my aoe enmity generation is not that great, so in the middle of a big pull if a dps goes hard on one enemy they will pull aggro. But hey! if its a ninja they could always silhouette me! Oh wait, that's too much to ask because I'm expected to hold aggro on a big pull when 1 dps is attacking one thing at a time. They're not bad, its me. Sorry.

I've even gotten in a dungeon with 2 ninjas that both used doton on boss. FFS... really? It's awfully rare to get qued with a ninja that actually uses their abilities.

But I can't really say anything if its something that doesn't cause a wipe because I would be wrong and be rightfully branded an a-hole. Doesn't mean its not annoying.

Ya being a tank can be a pain. Just got to do your best to deal with it and enjoy it when u get a good group. I honestly dislike playing tank sometimes due to how much it can feel like work due to other players. Such is life though.

Your preaching to the choir. I know exactly what you mean. When I queue for whatever as a healer I can generally point out who is doing their job properly. I, no lie, was healing a run of Haukke (HM) a while ago and the Dragoon in my party only used True Thrust. Over and over...

I get you. It seems to have gotten worse since HW, because the newer generation of players don't have all the same past experiences as the original ARR players (extreme level fights, Coil, etc), especially since they blitzed through that content to try to get to HW as fast as possible. We get left with a solid ton of players who don't actually know anything about their jobs, cuz the skipped all the previous stuff cuz... oh look! Dragons! Sorry, what were we talking about again?

Honestly, sometimes it's bad enough that I outright ignore the Dps, because it's like having an extra DoT on the mob I'm fighting. I only really need the healer in regular runs. It's a sad day when a tank and healer can two man a dungeon at the same pace as a light party... it's an infuriating day when you run into them in Ex and Savage content though. Learn before you leap.

I think it is mostly a community issue in MMOs. There are a lot people that have the mentality that you should be only maxing you DPS output as a dps. Most people really don't consider party support. If you need them to do something I would suggest just asking. As a Nin there are times that I forget to goad because I am focused on my rotation. A simple reminder from the tank helps pull me away from the "max out my damage" mentality and into a support my party one.

    /p TP check <TP>
This macro gives the exact number of my current TP and I use it when my TP gets low. Whether or not anyone wants to goad/song/turret me is up to them.

I agree with you here, but I also think that the "maxed out my damage" mentality is far too rare.

I'm not only concerned about Dps who under-preform in their support roles. I'm also concerned with Dps who don't bother to learn their maximum Dps rotations. Tanks have to mitigate dmg and hold aggro, no exceptions. Healers have to keep the team alive, no exceptions, but Dps can just sit back and slide by with the minimal amount of effort because everything the do, including something as tiny as auto-attacking, is considered doing Dps. That's ridiculous, and it causes serious problems sometimes. I can't count how many fail groups I've seen in the Nidhogg fight, for example, while leveling my tanks because the dps were so incredibly lackluster that they couldn't even meet that simple Dps check before he nukes them.

I don't expect every Dps to be a pro on par with progression raids, but it's a little frustrating when a Dps is outputting similar or less than equivalent Dps to the Tank.

I don't even ask for foe in dungeons anymore, I just silently judge them when they don't use it.

I've seen some new BLMs do this. I'm guessing they assume that they should be doing the ST Enochian rotation because it's made of higher level skills. Just ask them to please do their AoE rotation.

If someone's play style irks you so much to that you feel compelled to make a post about it, just leave. (That's what I do). Some people just can't handle DF and you appear to be one of them.

I'm really hoping this beginner hall thing they're adding will at least have a couple pop up texts that explain DoT potency, when to use AoE, and what "use on cool down" means. Preferably in obnoxious neon colored text and a lock out that won't go to the next pop up until its read out loud very slowly.

    If only...
