I like the niche usefulness of Cure III. It further displays how WHMs can heal in a multitude of situations. I just wish there were more opportunities to use it at times. Not that I feel it's a waste of a skill slot but if I removed it I don't think I would notice that much of a difference in my performance (I'm speaking from a nonprogressive stand point).

I guess my biggest issue is that SE doesn't give it many situations to shine. It's not the spell it's self but rather the current content.

I only recently started healing (just cleared 50 a few days ago), but I can totally related to this. I get almost no utility out of Repose.I had a few people request it in Brayflox (sleeping the lizard boss when the smaller lizard comes out), but other than that I've never used it. The fact that it's a single target cast is a big part of it, because it's main utility would be (in theory) for if things were getting out of hand and away from the tank. Ideally, you could sleep targets getting away from the Tank to stop them from leaving position or harrassing the party (mainly you), but the problem is that it's too slow for that. Blm's can sleep an enitre mob faster than a Whm can deal with it, so if any more than one target escapes the aggro of the Tank Repose is useless to help. You'd be better off just paper tanking them until the Tank smartens up.

Ps. Good to see you from over on the tank version of this thread lol.

And yeah, when I'm active on the forums I'm everwhere! It's nice to see that you went with making these threads in other forums though. Conversations help keep the slow forums seem less barren. Lol

This is actually something I think SE got wrong with their attack spells for healers. I realize that Dps is not their jobs, and combo bonuses would be interrupted by healing casts, but it feels like every version of Stone (for example) just makes the previous version irrelevant. Stone III replaces Stone II, Stone II replaces Stone I (unless that Heavy effect comes in handy... which I don't think it ever does). It seems kind of silly. I always thought that there should be meaningful effects or debuffs granted by the spell usage (like reducing mp costs of each next spell or something like that) that would make them relevant for usage. As it is now, you just replace them on your Hotbar when you get better versions. Kinda lame.

I used to use Stone I against the slimes on Amon in Syrcus Tower, to help slow them down so the group had more time to kill them. I haven't felt a pressing need to use Stone I in Heavensward content, though. I just use it when I'm synced.

You have to be kind of careful about what you use that heavy on, anyway. Really obscure example, but that guildhest with the lily that throws poison everywhere. If you spam stone on the enemies, they will crawl out of the poison clouds more slowly. This might encourage the tank and melee to fight in the cloud. Nothing that can't be healed through, but it can do more harm than good if the healer doesn't anticipate this.

    Dissipation.

I actually HAVE used it in raids, and it actually saved a run once, but I felt really bad about having to do it afterwards. Most nights I won't even remember it exists, though I'll use literally every other SCH ability at least once.

One Ilm Punch and Arm of the Destroyer on monk. OIP 9 times outta 10 is worthless unless you're fighting (some)mobs, same for AotD. Plus with AotD you have to be in a certain stance for the silence to proc when you use it, so it isn't always guaranteed.

Maybe this would be more fitting in the DPS thread, but I'm playing a scholar, so I post it here.

Miasma II is the only skill I've removed from my hotbar, because I've literally never used it. There's no need for a weaker AoE version of Miasma I, when we have Bane.
My first thought for keeping this skill was: Let's see maybe it has some use for crowd control. However, right positioning is all the CC you need in this game.
