Overwatch didn't die out or suffer as a result of the inclusion of tasteful bulges on the male character models. Just make it optional and those who want it can toggle it on and those who don't can toggle it off. That's a solid enough compromise.
    I agree completely.

I don't see it as sexual at all, it's part of the male body. A slider seems excessive but having it as it is now (literally ken doll) is also excessive in the other direction.

Butts for that matter. On some races the rear end is literally negative space that recedes in and it's awkward. We spend so much time looking at the back of our characters it's really a travesty.

Yoshida stated the reason in the recent interview when they asked why we cant have weight sliders. They dont want to have to go back and adjust 2000+ pieces of equipment.

Well, they could easily create new equipment to give the illusion of a bulge...

They also mentioned something about an item that would glamour body hair on a character but we've yet to see anything along those lines.

We've had people asking for the option to have real eyebrows for male highlanders since the days of ARR. We've had people asking for more facial hair options.

We don't need excuses at this point - we need action. We're not even getting many masculine looking hairstyles these days either - the majority are designed to be very feminine or androgynous.

Well said! NO more excuses. they have the money and the man power, and i would think the skills. this is not a new thing. The face options is 4 on all races they limit the the facial features such as markings and face paint to one selection rather than allowing a mix of sever at once to make more unique looks. and the highlights are so dull and at times the colors just muddy and faded looking that they are visible to not depending on the look when in real life people who use colors are bold and bright. I play Au Ra but there are horn styles i like that i cant pick cause the face its attached to i dont like. why are the horns not separate as a feature to be chosen? With all the amazing detail that goes into the world and the texture and look of the races it seems to me short sighted, and in the case of the male bulges, unrealistic to omit and limit other details. we need bright color options for the hair, better hair styles for the men that are really masculine, more curves for the women more definition and gender specific attribute for the men and more range of personalization in creation for the races. With so many players on in the game there must be more options for individuality not just in the gear, which we have and is great, but in the physical detail. The Hyur are the only race that actually have adjustments to the definition of the musculature? why is that?

You mean...they might actually have to upgrade and update the game to accommodate said updates? The HORROR. Welcome to the MMO scene, SE, where a game needs to be kept up to date.

I have to agree, but first let me say, a weight slider to what extent? I mean not to sound like a jerk but there's no such thing as an out of shape over weight pudgy hero who can do all the things the main character does, all the fighting training and adventuring and not be fit strong and healthy. So if you men weight as is a bunch of out of shape sprites running around its ridiculousness. Two You can not tell me with all the nickel and dimeing they do on mog station, of which we all pay for one reason or another, and the monthly payments of each player, to which there are millions of subscribers if their advertisements are to be believes, that they don't have the money to pay the programmers to of it and bodies that, there same amount of work goes int the updates and expansions when they add new content and change old. You cant tell me that at some point there isn't the opportunity to change the look, of the sprites during one of these major updates/expansions. It smacks of being cheap and lazy.

I don't think anyone's asking for anything too overkill, just something to give their characters reasonable, perhaps realistic proportions, like the infamous butt slider or muscle sliders for all races. Muscle sliders are basically just textures atm, so...maybe a slider overhaul could make them more pronounced and affect the character's appearance in a meanginful way. A hair length slider wouldn't be a bad idea either, imo. Better yet, they could give all races better proportions as a default and not have to worry about sliders. That, however, would upset people who are happy with things as they are currently. That leads us back to sliders. It would require some time and money, yeah, but a happy player base is a profitable one.

Exactly so, and the fact is that a happy player base will invite more friends and family. Some people find the larger creation options an incentive to playing games like this. cause many people tend to feel more drawn if they can adjust the sprites to lookas much like themselves as possible which is why most players will adjust the race skin color to be more like their own as well as hair texture. the more a persona can immerse themselves into a game the more drawn to and loyal they are to the game. Everyone has the fantasy of being hero in a fairy tale and this is one way we do that. to be in another world, as the hero, adventuring and fighting evil ect. But one more thing. CHANGE IS GOOD AND MAKES THINGS EXCITING! things that stay the same are BORING. thats why we have expansions. And its during those expansions that these changes can be made.

There is that overused word again, "realistic". So you know...the proportions of every single player character made that is not Lalafell ARE realistic. The flat butts and lack of visible bulge make them very unlikely, but NOT unrealistic.

Something not being like the average Joe or Jane does not mean it's not realistic. The fact that most people in the world are not in good shape and/or health does not mean that the healthy, fit people are unrealistic. Almost every time there is someone asking for realistic representation in video games showing some sort of character as argument, there are people that actually understand the meaning of that word showing photos of actual, real people with those proportions. A very loud example was a poster girl for GTA game...that was MODELED AFTER A VERY REAL PERSON altogether. And some activists called her unrealistic and fattened her up claiming that is the solution to her "disproportions".

So...yeah. Ask for options to have variety?! Sure. No problem here. I don't care so long as the characters made will still look as reasonably fit people without absurd options possible. Even among very fit people there are differences with how prominent the muscles are, how much fat content they have or how slim they are.

But claim that the changes are to add realism...and sorry. You are simply wrong. Plainly and factually wrong.

The only rare aspects of proportions for the characters that could be changed is some bulge (not necessarily big) and some butt (again, not necessarily big). Everything else is "realistic" (in quotation marks because, yes, Mi'quote do not exist, and neither do Elezen, Roegadyn etc...and Lalafells are out of whack on purpose), suitable for fit and active characters that spend their lives fighting gods and dragons and easy on the eyes. Which, yes, is of importance in a work of fiction. Fiction which have that to it that it can take a very small chance of someone being born extremely beautiful and flawlessly healthy and pass that trait on everyone.
