Thanks Pikster and that is a really neat link. Someone poured a bunch of work into that website holy heck. So many articles. Takes considerable time to write that much up!This reminds me alot of the very short lived Vana'diel Tribune's.

You're welcome, I'm a designer by trade so if you have any questions feel free to ask, I'll make sure to keep an eye on this thread.

That was actually the work of the old FFXI development team - it was an official supplement to FFXI, in that it was actually accessed via the FFXI client PlayOnline Viewer or the website and essentially was a FFXI-lore dump and news source (remember this was in the days before Facebook and Twitter - there wasn't even an official forum for FFXI at that time). Eventually SE scrapped it in favour of just posting information on the main FFXI website, and eventually added an official forum (at the same time as they added one for FFXIV 1.0 as well), as the Vana'diel Tribune was obviously just too time consuming and costly to produce.
I still loved it anyway, as it really brought Vana'diel to life and made it seem like you were reading a Vana'dielian newspaper through your character's eyes.![]()

Oh that's really neat I didn't know that. That explains its high quality and consistency! It was super lore heavy from what I was reading. I wasn't around for FFXI so I missed all the fun of old!

This is a great idea and I enjoyed the fact that it was laid out similar to the online game informer magazine. However, I do have an odd question, that I hope does sound too presumptuous. Does the person who lays out the magazine have page design/layout experience? The magazine is fine, and it's meant to be something fun, but there are a few minor issues with the layout design that might need to be addressed. But, it is a great magazine.
People in the thread allready asked this question and the answer is the person doing the designing is in the learning stages of layout and design.
I think for a new project this is a great learning experience for them I did something similar when I began learning design for magazines, hell I ordered my own physical copy of the magazine I designed was pretty awesome learning experience.
Always gotta start somewhere.

The person doing it is Medicus ;-) He is awesome. As Jynx noted Medi is in the upper learning stages. He does this kind of thing as a hobby but not professionally. Our lazy heffer butts need to help him more... doesn't work if I just pay him in cookie and no one helps LOL

This is great. It's good to see other people on Ultros actually do community stuff.
