Would also like to add, I've been helping FC buddies through out dungeons(Talking about 44-60 dungeons here)
never once did i gave them a easy time and went with fending gear. Never did they had a issue hell, For fun sometimes i didn't even explain mechanics to see how they did. They passed with flying colors.
So as i said before in this thread, a bad STR tank will not make a good VIT tank.
There is no reason why a tank can't put AT LEAST some of their allocation/gear toward STR. It really helps. My main is a tank so I know. I'm not saying that a lot of STR is a good idea, VIT is the tank stat, but more dps is ALWAYS good for a fight, no matter where it comes from. The poster doesn't know what they are talking about.
Too many people take this idea too far, though. A Ninja should not ever have more HP than a Paladin (That was the case with me a couple of days ago. What healer should have to put up with that? There is no reason why a tank can't put AT LEAST some of their allocation/gear toward STR. It really helps. My main is a tank so I know. Then that's because they were lacking on left-side upgrades, which of course needs to be taken into consideration when gearing for str. Taking it too far is a good way to put it.
I was a full VIT PLD, but since I got DRK up to Lv60, and I'm seeing a difference in damage dealt even in full VIT on DRK, I'm beginning to question if I should slap on two or three pieces of STR for added effect. My question(s) to you all:
- Should I put all Attributes into STR and wear all VIT accessories?
- Should I put all Attributes into VIT and wear all STR accessories?
- Should I go 50/50 STR/VIT Attributes and mix accessories?

It really boils down to your level of expertise, your ilvl and confidence you have in your healers. Proper tanking in this game is 90% efficient cooldown management and the extra HP bloat makes very little difference when you can kill things twice as fast as an STR tank than you could as a VIT. Personally, as a i200+ WAR, I tend to just roll full slaying with all my points allocated into STR.I was a full VIT PLD, but since I got DRK up to Lv60, and I'm seeing a difference in damage dealt even in full VIT on DRK, I'm beginning to question if I should slap on two or three pieces of STR for added effect. If you are in the process of learning and want to test the waters you could do something like full STR stat allocation with 3x Fending and 2x Slaying ACCs. Slowly changing as you grow more and more confident. Just be aware that pretty much anything that isn't savage nor extreme is extremely easy to do with a full STR setup once you fully understand your job.

I have all 3 tanks with 35 str. War has the best left side gear so I tend to run full slaying, PLD and DRK left side gear is behind, depending on content I'll usually roll 3 str 2 vit. But I don't run all that much on PLD or DRK.I was a full VIT PLD, but since I got DRK up to Lv60, and I'm seeing a difference in damage dealt even in full VIT on DRK, I'm beginning to question if I should slap on two or three pieces of STR for added effect. this is likely to change in 3.2, however
Hmm this is still going *popcorn*
Meh, if I don't make my mistakes openly here where people can correct me if they please I don't learn. I'd rather make mistakes and admit to them than believing that everything I say is a 100% fact. All I'm saying is I like that heal buffer cause I don't see tanks often who actually use their cooldowns correctly.
I never called every Str tank bad if thats what you wanted to bring across with that. I even said I would be happy to get a good one some day, I just never did up until now. I had a ton of bad Vit ones too but I actually don't see many tanks loosing hate lately and if they do then again it's mostly skill if they are not outgeared.
