    Strength Tanks

    Please stop, there is no sane reason why a tank should slot points into strength instead of vitality. You having less or the same hp as a dps is not an effective tank build because a dead tank does zero dps.

    If you say that you hold hate better then you must never flash or taunt , seriously if you do your threat generation rotation properly you will hold hate and once again when you die due to your low hp your threat generation goes to zero.

    It is not a healers responsibility to spend an insane amount of time and mana keeping you alive when you choose not to talent properly, it's like healing a dps that thinks he is a tank.

    In conclusion is you want to play a dps class then roll one otherwise learn to play as the role you selected which means you are there to take damage not cause massive damage to mobs and die in the process.

    Because getting as close to being one-shot, without requiring that healers lose dps or are forced to use CDs where they otherwise would not, is actually a good thing, assuming the enemy dies faster as a result. I don't know why people would think otherwise. Deaths beyond the minimum eHP for a give TB will be because you or the healers screwed up. An extra 4k health isn't typically going to save you from anything but an immediate AA after a TB, which most tanks will have already included in that minimum eHP count (though, as long as they are not truly simultaneous, that eHP can also be dropped).

    Additionally, STR improves every tank function other than eHP, while Vitality does not. Stronger self-heals, more enmity.

    I only go full Strength and Take off Grit when Im in a static group I trust - Other wise, I am putting my faith in a healer that I have no experience with. With so many bad players out there whether either DPS or healing. There is no other real choice.

    LEt's assume a tank has 15,000 hit points. If this is -two hit range-, then the boss hits a minimum of two 7.5k hits within a short window of time.

    Therefore, a tank with 15,001 hit points will be 3 hit. After that, a tank requires 7500 more hit points to not be 4-shottable without healing. Any hit points before that point only pads on an amount a healer does not need to heal to prevent the tank death in 3 hits.

    Tell me why this is a more efficient use of your limited gear options than trusting your healer and dealing more damage?

    Also, having more HP doesn't stop you from being mushed by mechanics, it only buys you a tiny bit of buffer in trash pulls--you should be using CDs anyway, or you're going to be in for a Bad Time as a tank.
