Probably because they date back to the 1.0 versions of those trials and have just never been updated for whatever reason.
They're going back and updating the Mogwand, so there's hope that Garuda's may get the same treatment in the future.
I really want to use the Inferno Cudgel in all its one handed glory, but I cannot glammor it, I can't imagine it would be hard to be able to program in the ability to glamour one handed/two-handed weapons, maybe just lock off the off hand slot as a requirement, boom, done.
If that is somehow too hard, I will settle for a 2 handed Inferno Rod.
I wish they also bing recipes for 1 hand versions of 2 hand CNJ weapons, so we can combine the glamour with a shield
First they removed DoM's access to shield skills, now they want to remove the shields for them all together. I don't like it.

Start saving your demimateria and primal drops now, because my inner DoH is telling me these 2-handed versions will be crafted.
In the worse case scenario, yes.
In the best case scenario, they'll have you turn in the crafted wands to an NPC and exchange it it for the staff version.
Who knows what Square-Enix will go with, though.
I wish the Moogle Wand for WHM was extended into a Moogle Staff.
Wands are not very popular it seems, and they stopped making them. I am happy because I hate wands, but I do feel for those who want to use them.
Either WHM or BLM should of ended up going down the wand and shield route while the other uses staffs so they would end up using different weapon types like most other jobs do. I find staffs to be really boring personally.
Personally, I've not been too fond of the shields on DoM...
With Conjury, I am not too fond of many of the 1h weapons, thaumaturgy though, I prefer the 1h weapons.
I would be happy if we could just glamor wands on top of staves.
