I quit the day they add gearscore or the day the community ridicules & kicks random players for not being geared exactly how they "should" be. It's selfish & retarded to expect everyone to have everything at all times.

It'll probably happen with damage parser add-ons. Oh well.

I never had a problem with WoW lfg tools before. Just select the instance you want and you are put in the list. Put a comment of your dps or whatnot. Seemed to work pretty well. Dungeon finder just made it super easy to get in a dungeon. I agree that the total jerks pretty much ruined the feature for me. I got plenty of them on the same server I was in using the lfg tool though.

I didn't like the vote kick feature. If two people didn't like each other I would get many prompts to kick through the whole dungeon. If you don't like someone that much you should be forced to just leave.

I think a content finder is a useful feature if they allow for better searching tools in addition.

Content Finder is a great idea and i am really happy to see it come to the game , i like to think i am not rude to people when i party up with them and enjoy be in parties with other people.
My problem is i have alot of trouble finding people to join up with , this may be because i dont have friends i know in person only meet people from the game which over the years while playing ff11 i met some of best players i have ever seen in online games and i used to be a ultima online player many many years back, that social experience of the game was more community based but i like with final fantasy to get online and acheive something in game without pressure to do it in a certain way so i am glad to see something like this come into the game.

I think what it needs is a linkshell bonus so that when you do one of these raids , if you do it with your linkshell friends on your world you get rewarded in a different way to how you do when joining a random group.
Both can be a great addition to the game.

You know, honestly this is just such a quality of life feature that the end justifies the means. Sure there will be sucky people, and occasionally we'll have to deal with that, but man will it be awesome to never have to sit around waiting countless hours to do what you want again. You're the man Yoshida.

Honestly? I think people are completely exaggerating the number of jerks that are in DF groups.

I think this is probably true, if you are looking at a large sample size of players. But the ones who are jerks are bad enough to leave a lasting impression (as you can see).

'Jerkiness' is only the far end of the spectrum, though - there are just as many who are lazy, or unskilled, or uncommunicative. All of those make for a not so fun experience when doing content.

However, I'm not against the implementation of such a system, as you certainly aren't forced to use it. I would prefer it to be some sort of behest-style setup, though, where the group is formed at the site of the event or at an aetheryte, not some magical process of whisking you across the world to a dungeon from the middle of Ul'Dah.

Exactly. Count the number of people who are being jerks in all of the parties formed by a dungeon finder and then find all of the people who aren't being jerks. I bet you a million dollars the non-jerks will outweigh the jerks by an extremely large margin.

Oh you would be surprised the amount of assholes I had in random parties in WoW, you know those ones that select need on every item even the ones that don't suit their class.

That being said you meet assholes in real life too, you just deal with it and move on.

For the most part I imagine most people will be decent to one another.

I just hope the dev-team allow us to make a half party and then still add ourself to the queuing system (assuming they use something like this)

It was always handy to make a 4/5 team from the guild and just use the DF to fill the last spot.

The obvious fallacy in this is that dicks exist with or without automated cross-server LFG. It's really only a convenient scapegoat for a bad community. In FFXI, supposedly the most mature and lovely community ever, people would get tossed out of groups for wearing gear that wasn't "optimal." People didn't get invites because of the job they chose to play. JP players would literally tell NA players, "JP only" despite there being a completely serviceable translator. People jacked items regularly. Most of the bad behavior in an MMO has nothing to do with a system like the Content Finder.

Rose tinted nostalgia glasses my friend. I bounced from MMO to MMO after having played FFXI for half a decade, and I found that almost all of the problems other MMOs' communities supposedly had were actually much milder. And FFXI, by comparison, was extremely cut-throat and people were extremely elitist and mean spirited, but they never let it show on the surface.
