I'm glad to hear that it hasn't been only me having this issue. I've been getting some really bad lag spikes a short time into my groups raids (we start at around 8pm so I figured it was likely to do with peak time traffic).

If it helps any sort of investigation my ISP is Virgin Media, I've heard that people have had some problems before with them, though thankfully mine have been relatively minimal with only a few lags spikes at worse and only having had one or two major lag spikes recently per night.

I don't think it's Virgin Media (or any of our ISPs) this time, considering that I'm Telia all the way from first to last named nodes.

That the troublesome node in question has nearly the same address (only the suffix being different) as FFXIV's servers suggests that it belongs to whomever owns the FFXIV EU data center, or at least their ISP, instead of ours.

yes for whatever reason that node isnt handling the heavy traffic well -a way to test this is to try and play at a silly hour of the morning and watch all the problems go away like i did. i think everyone must be suffering and not getting a true low and consistent ping - but for some reason certain isps are suffering more than others making matters worse - the problem is until its addressed many like myself cant even play.
