G15 keyboard help

Hi guys, i used to use my keyboard for FFXI and it was wonderful, i would like to use it for RR but i cannot for the life of me figure out what i am doing wrong.

if i press 1 in game, i cast heal... so i tried to bind a Gkey to 1 and nothing.
i tried to use the logitech software to put in text commands such as /wave and /ac "physic" <me> and nothing

i tried to quick macro 1, and quick macro /ac physick <me> neither worked... im not sure what to do

You cannot use the keyboard to do text commands that is NOT allowed.

You can only do one action for one press.

If you make a macro with a text command and then put it on your action bar and activate that with a mapped key then that's fine.

Make sure you have the correct profile activated on your keyboard.

Anyways. I'm not sure if it's the same as the Razer Synapse, but I just rebind the macro key to a specific keybind.
For example, my M1 key is rebinded to Ctrl + 0.

(also make sure the button actually has a skill lol)

Yes, that's fine.

I would blame no one for using keyboard macros instead of the in-game ones. (We all know that the in-game macros are crappy).

But here you go:

/macroicon "Physick"
/echo I Shall heal myself
/ac "Physick" <me>

Put it on your hotbar and then set up a keybind for the slot. Set the same keybind on your g-key as one button press and profit.

here is what i did upon getting the keyboard

downloaded and installed driver and software linked it to ffxivboot.exe

in game i pressed MR, pressed G1, typed in /ac "Physick" <me> [enter] and pressed MR to finalise the quick macro... the game cast the spell after i wrote it, but when i tried to press G1.. nothing.

i pressed MR - G1 - 1 - MR ... diddnt work

i then went into the software and bound G1 to 1 ... went into the game, pressed 1 - cast the spell... pressed G1 .. nothing

i went back to the software and clicked text block... wrote the above spell into it... and bound it to a g key... nothing again

im really not sure what i am doing wrong

YOU CANNOT DO THAT.

Each character is a separate key press so is therefore bannable.

A game macro is not the same thing as a keyboard macro.

Game macros only allow you to do one thing at a time and a keyboard macro yo\u cando multiple presses and sue timers that are considered automated gameplay.

As others said, anything in regards to keyboard macros is bad, but S-E isn't all that sharp when it comes to such things. However, GMs tend to disregard such report with RMT. I have no clue when it comes to human players, personally I wouldn't chance it. If anything make a macro in-game assign it some wacky combo to activate and assign ONLY that to the macro key so the game sees one action, ergo no harm no fowl.

I was able to get it to work using a three line text block. The first and last lines are just an "Enter/Return" key press.

I used //action instead of /action because for some reason it doesn't register the first character after the "/".
