if FFXIV v. 2.0 is as different as it's touted to be (completely new server structure, completely new engine), they should at least have a "beta" (for example, on a public test real) of it for it to be free to existing players to ensure that the new system actually works.

I'm vary wary that it will do SE any good to lose players, even if it's only 5-10% loss, and that's almost a best case scenario.
