Nope I never said I was leaving. Please quote me where I said I was outta here.
i don't get these two points at all.5) You may be more intelligent or see this as another beta but you have very little respect or appreciation for what they have done to correct the issue at no expense to you up until this point. Calling people stupid because you claim to know the future is not intelligence...it's arrogance.
6) @ your last point. By your logic...if people don't like content then they should receive it for free? If that is the case then I hereby announce my permanent hatred of all games past, present and future.
5) There was an expense to me. $50. I never called anyone stupid by the way. I think I may have asked if someone was dense though.
6) What? No, if people don't like content they won't pay for it. But that is beside the point. I was counter arguing a point made by someone who said that we need to pay for it now rather than later. I had simply pointed out that we made it this far without a subscription, can't we go until the game is actually relaunched?
5) That money would be no different than paying for a single player game and it not turning out that well...the difference is you had a beta to look at beforehand. You made the choice to pay for the game even with that beta. This game has also had a great deal of support since that time. Most games without a recurring subscription receive very little support.i don't get these two points at all.

6) How would they know they like content unless they pay for it? Over the last 13 months they have given you a taste of what the future of this game holds. If you have not liked what you have seen up until this point then more than likely waiting for V2.0 to come out will not fix that. We are not waiting for a "relaunch". We are waiting on the PS3 launch. The PC version is going to change but not relaunch. Anything you have done up till now will still be there when V2.0 is released. It is a patch/version update not a server wipe. Everything done up to that point will be done to improve the current version as much as possible and to transition the world via storyline. You will still be receiving more storyline content and improvements to the game. You will be paying for that content from now on and to show even more appreciation for us sticking around they will be releasing what equates to DLC that they could charge for as a freebie.

Bottom line is we had the game free for a year. They have to start charging now to support the new changes or they would have to take pay cuts and all that rift raft. That information alone made me want to support SE even more. I don't see how anyone could not see it exactly the way I do I mean unless you can't afford to pay for it at the moment but that is your loss.I don't think they have any right to charge us to play a beta. It's been a year and still no search function, no useable LFG system, and no mail. The game is a wasteland outside of chatting linkshells. Now that tons of people are going to quit, the game is going to become even more desolate. Why am I going to -pay- to play a game that's not even really ready?
I always thought to myself that they would only change when this theoretical 2.0 was released (and on PS3 too)... but to charge us for it one year ahead of time? I understand there are bills to pay, but SE really made a horrible game and deserve to pay the price. I still feel insulted that they even released the game in the first place.
I only log in to play around, check to see what's changed, and log out, and I'm sure at least 50% of the players are exactly like me (if not more).
Don't get me wrong, I had a huge smile on my face as I read through the announcement and saw the PDFs about 2.0... but I'm not paying for 1.9, or 1.20.
Unfortunately, they are probably making the wrong decision on behalf of the players. I already feel insulted -again-. For the entire 2012 I'm going to be pissed at them for not allowing the people who payed 50+ dollars for this garbage continue to see the updates that THEY OWE US first hand. Now I'm going to have to be a forum dweller.
TLDR: I feel insulted all over again and refuse to pay for beta, a bad beta at that.
****EDIT***** Important Quote from last page.
i don't mind waiting. I've been waiting since 2010. And yes, I log into the game but i don't really do much except run around. I look at shop prices, I check the market wards, I see how bad the server - client lag is. I check to see how the combat has changed (even if it is level 15). It still gives a really good idea about how the general basics work in FFXIV (which are their -main- problems). I don't need to level and see how the monster strongholds work, or how much EXP the leve's give. I do want to save my experiences in FFXIV for when it's actually good. I do not want to level up just to be higher than everyone else once 2.0 hits.
Bottom line still stands. You guys are just 'fanboy' enough to pay SE to test their content for them. They are counting on you to make sure their relaunch goes better than their first launch. This MMORPG now depends on this relaunch more than anything. It doesn't matter how much money they make each month in this coming year... if the relaunch does not deliver (and in a timely manner) FFXIV is going to flat out flop. Why are you paying them? They messed up. You should not have to pay for that. Charge us when the relaunch happens SE. Do not charge us to help pave the way for your relaunch.
I think you're making an assumption that they would need to take pay cuts "and all that rift raft". I don't see it the way you do because I don't cave in to their crap as easily as some do.Bottom line is we had the game free for a year. SE in 2009 says, "Hey look at these shiny new concept arts and game plans, please buy our game when it releases!"
SE now says, "Hey look at these shiny new concept arts and game plans, please pay us a monthly subscription so we can make this happen, hopefully in a year and a half!"
Do you see the freakin problem with this yet?!

You are wrong sir, Tanaka and Sundi said in many many many interviews prior to the game's release that they wanted way more time.I think you're making an assumption that they would need to take pay cuts "and all that rift raft". I don't see it the way you do because I don't cave in to their crap as easily as some do.

your average game(hell even some of the worst games out there) release with a total of 10-20 hours of content at a 60 dollar price tag
and people give them rave reviews and love them to death even though they only ever play them for 10-20 hours
i can almost guarentee people who got this at launch and didnt immediately put it back down have played well over 50-100 hours EACH
and any of those who still say they didnt get their moneys worth are full of it
and to anyone who did put it down and never pick it up again, you arent even in these forums anyway so those peoples opinions no longer matter
