This mount was purely designed as something to sell. It's just like the scion costumes.

It might have made more sense for it to drop in castrum, but that boat sailed a long time ago. That and, I'm not sure everyone realizes how toxic socially a group that is farming that would be. We are talking about content that wouldn't require any effort. Get ready for people magically going afk during fights constantly and just doing barely enough work to not get kicked. Or perhaps they bring 4 of their friends and duty finder the rest, so they can't be kicked since need a majority vote.

It could be fine, maybe I just personally have had bad experiences. I find much better Thordan Ex farm parties than I did like diadem farm parties. What is it about easy content that people seem to think it means they can afk the entire time or just be jerks?

that is the beauty of Undersized, if you can solo praetorium and ifrit hardmode, you can sure as shit solo or at the VERY least, two man castrum with a friend. no need for a farm group

I'm pretty sure the scion costumes were designed so that our friends wouldn't be naked. And Livia's mount was designed so she wouldn't be floating in mid-air in an invisible vehicle, like Wonder Woman.

So yeah, this game would be better without these items. Naked Yda and invisible jets.

I don't want to look like I'm an expert in glamour but, aside for Minfillia costume, you can reproduce most of the costumes from the Scion with in-game items. Heck, I've seen people cosplaying as Yda many times already.

Yes these costumes can be used on anything unlike those glamoured models, but this just shows that they aren't exactly the best designed outfits ever if you can reproduce them with in-game features: we are essentially paying for a bunch of in-game items that are class-free, which is something that they could've done by themselves (I still want my WVR outfit glamoured...)

The same thing is for the mount as well: we are paying essentially for a recolor, something that it's already in game for the chocobo (although very annoyingly so: why can't I just pay with gil? Gilsink already!) and overall a constant feature that's updated for new outfits. But not these two mounts? What's next, selling recolored weapons? Additional color and details for character customization (OH PLEASE I HOPE NOT...)

Again, my red baron was a gift, a gift that I didn't want to accept but it would be rude not to. But even then, both me and my friend acknowledge this shady act.

And in this case, it's not like they didn't already have the model for White Devil lying around. They literally took the existing model, slapped on the attributes of the existing magitek mounts, and done. That took an intern all of an hour to do. It's not like it's taking away weeks of development time. (Did Red Baron already exist? I can't remember.)

Funny how everyone on this forum works in IT department or as a game developer, producer or sociologist.

I wish I worked on something as fun and exciting as game development. I work on medical software. I'm procrastinating working on a data flow diagram to describe how a JSON string is going to be sent from a medicine cabinet to our inventory system. :/

Well if it makes you feel better, I currently work for a grocery chain and have been for the last 17 years. I have nothing to brag about school wise since I didn't enter college.

Is it that much of a shocker that a bunch of professional tech geeks play video games online?

Also, I'm a regular software engineer (who admittedly would love to work on game engines if the Boston area ever got a real game industry) so I guess I get a free pass :P

I've been on these forums for a while and this is not at all the trend I have seen.

First, I have not seen anyone else state they are or have been an actual game developer asides from me. I have seen a few people say they are in school for or are taking game development classes, but that is completely different than actually having worked in the industry.
There may have been some people that said this that I have missed but it is definitely not even close to a majority.

As for people working in IT, its not surprising considering that techie people are often drawn both to IT jobs and to video games. Also IT jobs are a huge subcategory of the modern job market with many subsets under it, so with how many people in general these days work in something that could be labelled as IT related, encountering these people will happen fairly often.

I haven't seen anyone say they are a sociologist, but I have seen people that were in college bring up doing a project or paper for a sociology class, often about gaming trends in certain societal groups. Again, taking a course in college does not equate to being a professional in the field.

Overall the two main general occupation groups that I have seen forum members mention being a part of are retail and IT, both of which are a pretty large portion of the job market so is to be expected for the most part.

P.S. If your comment was intended as facetious, well people acting as if they are authorities on such things on a video game forum, particularly a MMO, is par for the course.
