I think it was mentioned somewhere in this thread that it might be better to put in re-skinned stuff and other stuff that has already been in game versus taking away from development time to put something into the cash shop if they had to do it. I completely agree with this point. If people have ever followed WoW since their last expansion, it can be seen that updates were very lackluster with a majority of the updates either being QoL changes or updated older content. They really only added 4 new things related to the expansion which were 3 raids and an area that people already visited half of at the start of the expansion. However, they have released quite a few items specifically for their cash shop, which to me is a waste of time that could've been better spent on new content. Cash shop will exist even if there's only a handful of people remaining in the game.

Currently the magitek armor mount special actions, Magitek Cannon and Photon Stream, are only available because Jessie from the Garlond Ironworks restored them as part of the "Magiteknical Difficulties" quest. However, now that we have a larger variety of magitek armor mounts available with the Red Baron, White Devil, and the gilded magitek armor, we will be expanding those special actions to cover them as well!

Well there is one benefit to cash shop items, and that's that they finally get around to making much requesting changes such as making them dyeable and now this at least. Now if only the the White Devil didn't glow.

Can the sunawa and elbst get their actions as well ? Best was only in the one event, but it'd be nice to have it shoot water again to combat those drakes !

Not sure why it's gated behind a quest, but I suppose that's a nice in-game lore explanation as to why those mounts can't do it
