So the PS4 touch pad... how does it work? (New to PS4)

So I just upgraded to PS4, yay me, lol, anyway, after sorta fixing all of my configurations I have a question. What is the best way to use the touch pad? And how do you use it at all? I have a friend who indicated she uses it for the petbar, though I tried and that seems a little odd/difficult to me. I'm curious how I can get better at it, or do I not need to jse it at all? Also what is the best way to use the PC hotbars I now have access to. I plan on using them to watch cool downs so I know when a skill is available. Does that sound resonable or is there a better use for them?

I use it to select my chat log so I can press triangle to make my chat area full screen other then that I really have no use for the touch pad.

PS4 Touchpad - I only use it to cycle through GUI parts by pushing the bottom left/right corners.

PC hotbars used to watch cool downs yup if you're not using /recast macro to see the actual CD town.

i turn off the touch pad = mouse (it is super sensitive for some odd reason) left touch pad = last tab right touch pad = next tab

I turned the touch pad off the first day I played on PS4 after I kept accidentally brushing it and doing things I didn't want. It's still useful for tapping through the on-screen information though. And yeah, PC hotbars are great for watching important cooldowns somewhere other than right down where my crossbar goes

I just use it to tab through the windows and huds. As long as its not connected with a charging cable you can use it as a laptops touch pad to drag and drop icons around the cross bar and hot bars. Depending on what the button command is for turning it on, it is also used for control of the virtual mouse. Mostly to drag the chat window around, scale, and re arrange the UI layout.

I also disabled it the first day.. Got annoyed by the cursor jumping around. I use a horizontal bar to monitor CDs for drg, then have a short vertical bar with keybinds to the numpad for LB/HP pot/MP pot/waymarks. I don't use those often enough to need them immediately at hand, and don't lose much time reaching to hit them (since my keyboard is usually in my lap anyway).

Disabling the touch pad for absolutely everything except for functionally being what the select button was on PS3 was one of the first things I did, and I've never looked back. It's incredibly annoying otherwise.

I recently joined on PS4 as well (wooooot ps4 upgrade!), Side note omg the game looks so beautiful on ps4 and omg I don't take 3 minutes to zone into an area!!! Anyway back to the touch pad. I turned that crazy thing off. I thought it would be cool I could use it as a mouse to target things in battle when my weapon is out to make it easier to do certain mechanics... NOPE! That thing was so sensitive that me touching the bottom of the controller kept moving the cursor, making it click, and basically spazzing it out. I tried lowering it's sensitivity but nope that thing is crazy. So I just turned it off and only use it to tab through the GUI like everyone else has said.
