SE is moving to a new client with 2.0 There is a good chance they will be moving away from the current patch system which is horrific.

To the OP, yes it's happened to me as well with a new high end PC. Took me 4 times of uninstalling reinstalling to get it to work. Now the first time I installed it at launch there were no problems. But since then, I installed it on a new pc and it did exactly as you said.

You can't change the fact that this DL client is garbage. Otherwise people wouldn't be using other means to obtain the data. SE needs to realize this. They are a business first and foremost, losing one customer may not seem like a big deal to some of you but I can guarantee it is to them. That customer will sway his friends or people he knows not to buy this game. You think SE likes only having like 20k possible subscribers? I'm sure they would much rather have millions.
