It would be pretty nice to have some challenging content outside of 8 man parties. Would bring some variety into the game for sure.

I just want somewhere in the outside game world where level 100+ enemies walk around 1 shotting foolish people like the good ol 1.0 days.

I really hope the XIV team absorbs some of the XI devs in the coming months. While I really love how Yoshi-P pulled this game from the ashes, the game desperately needs some new ideas if it's going to stay relevant.
For the average player, XIV just feels like a big to-do checklist with no real goal -- and that's because most players don't have any real chance at finishing the ultimate 8-man raids, because most people can't commit to statics.
That's why we need alternative forms of endgame, and not just a big area that serves as a loot pinata. Players need GOALS, not just things to cross off a checklist each day. That's why the relic weapon questline was so dang popular, even though it was a total grindfest.

It's not just about minimum iLevel though... I think generally, people hate redoing content they've already done before, even if it is easy. I'm still stuck on the last two turns of coil, because everyone in my FC has completely lost interest in helping with that. Being able to go backward is a nice option, but it's more of a novelty than anything else. Most people want to spend their time pursuing new goals while working toward progression.
