Please add option to show personal DoT ticks as floating combat text

DoT's at the moment are nearly invisible. With all the flashy animations and numbers on screen they get lost and we have no idea what they are hitting for. If it weren't for the icon on the monster, we wouldn't know they were there at all.

DoTs don't "feel" like a lot of damage. This could be fixed if they were displayed as floating combat text. The DoT damage would appear in big white letters and float upwards just like the rest of our damage, DoTs can crit too so this would be seen as well. This option would be for your own personal DoT's not the party or raid.

Here is an example from GW2, DoT's are displayed as floating combat text and it actually "feels" powerful and a great amount of damage: https://youtu.be/vDATKgI10mg?t=1m23s

I support this, even though I play with damage numbers turned off, (too much pointless clutter for my liking). The one thing you have to remember though is that even with this, they won't feel "powerful" more than likely, at least not on an individual scale, because each tick from them are inherently very weak. It's the cumulative total that makes them powerful, which you won't see on an individual tick basis.....

I disagree, did you watch the video? My 3 SMN DoTs combined tick for between 960-1200 unbuffed (miasma, bio, bio2) compared to my ~700 Ruin and Garuda Egi's ~600 Wind Blade. 1200 vs 700 seems powerful. Compare this to a BLM's Fire IV hitting for 5k, no. But my reasoning for this change is less about feeling powerful and more about just being able to see you are actually doing damage, DoTs are basically invisible and it's the main reason they seem weak.

It'd be nice to be able to see damage output in the form of a expanded combat text. It's kind of frustrating not being able to see your DoTs or pet damage (as a person who formally mained BRD and would like to see DoT crits, as well as a MCH main with turret)

This is one of them painfully obviously features that should have been included in 2.0s launch...
