I think it will be a free download, but you will still have to have a Product Key. Obviously, people who already have XIV already have a Product Key.

I think the OP is asking if we'll get the collectors edition of FF14 version 2.0 when they re-release it in the market if we currently HAVE the original FF14 Collectors Edition.

As in, do we get special little items that the new CE will have if we have the old CE.

Please do read the documents before asking questions? Yes. Everything will be retained, and if you don't like your current character you'll also be able to recustomize him and change race and genre.
