It takes only a few hours to get to 15 really. It's not that big of a deal. You can literally just go around killing mobs for the hunt log as archer and pretty much get to 15 just from that. Maybe do a few FATES and levequests.

This game was made to have people play multiple classes/jobs on one char, but if you want to just get it to 15 to unlock the job for blm which is what sounds like you want to be your main that is fine as well.

it is good for solo content. though in group content. you never want to backseat heal. regardless on what is happening.

they can cross physick from arcanist only when you get to black mage. that is the only heal you get. it also is completely useless, as your healing and attacking is intelligence (attack power) and mind (healing power) so you won't be getting off any good healing numbers.

Still can do some emergency healing at times, maybe even carry a dead heal in case things go really wrong - at least in the lower levels. Later on though yeah it's mostly worthless.

For endgame it's useless, definitely.
I've absolutely healed through some dungeon bosses on my BLM with Physick when the healer bit the dust, though (it's so painful I don't recommend it).

It is very fast and easy to get Archer to level 15. You can just do the Archers quests plus a few FATES and of course your Hunt Log (in game just hit "H"). It would probably take you like 3 hours. Than once your Archer is level 15 you can unlock your quests to become the Black Mage. Every single class has to level a different class to 15 before they can get their advanced job, it really is not difficult. Plus Archer is really easy to play with!

ya. the best part about the game is to hve multiple leveling on only one character. some classes do not overly well depending on which you choose. like for a healer. swiftcast from thaumaturge to help with a quick spell like raise. you also do not lose what level you got to either. so you can experiment with other classes if you so choose.

And i just saw that you get like 100% exp bonus, thank god.

So i can get a healing spell or two for my Thaumaturge? That will be godsent if its true.

Sure. Get a few levels of Arcanist, and you will get a basic healing spell that you can use as a cross-class skill for Thaumaturge/Black Mage.
(You can get one from Conjurer as well, but you will not be able to use it as a Black Mage - jobs are limited as to which classes they can pick cross-class skills from.)

Took me fewer hours than i initially expected, many thanks for all your help, doing all these sidequests helped me a lot, especially the Black Mage one, which was worth it in the end.

Is it a viable option to level up through dungeons and the main storyline? The side quests tend to be a bit boring and i find dungeons, loot and killing big stuff more fun, as well as the good storyline so far.
