    Seige the city

In xi A nation or beast tribe were able to dominate an area. Why not make imperials attack the cities. they are already attacking outside of gridania. whenever a nation looses ground to imperials they should get closer, and eventually reach the city.

once they reach the city an all out war happens for dominance of the city. PvE TIME!!

Catapults, battering rams, rain of arrows, moats. drawbridges. Each would have a significance during the battle. IF we lose the battle they occupy the city until the next Cycle. A sort of "upkeep" would be instilled.

THE GOAL: would be to PREVENT/fend off imperials from entering and reaching a cetain spot within the city. with the use of rams, ladders, catapaults ECT. Not some lame random spawn and stand around

:moved from mechanics cuz nobody looks in there:

Yes, I would love to see a world conquest system in FFXIV.

There's so much that can be done with it given all the classes available. For example blacksmiths can repair forts, armorers can repair the catapults, carpenters can repair bridges, culinaries can simply food for the upkeep, gatherers can gather the repair items needed etc...

This game has the possibility to have an amazing world conquest system that would allow players to work together to achieve something that actuely makes an impact in the world.

This is what I expect in a next-gen mmo, dynamic open world content.

Well, first off they couldnt do that for the 3 city states at all. Sure the high level players would have fun, but unless it zoned you into an instance by automatic, you would have a bunch of bodies lying on the floor. Let alone, for that time the city was occupied, how would you go along your usual daily routine.

HOWEVER, genious idea as it is, merely putting it in an outer city, like ishguard, or whatever its called, would work just fine.

SE can work out these details. The idea is great and it can be implemented into the game as a representation of the conflict which already exists between Eorzea and the Imperials.

Once again, let SE decide balance and such, our job as players is just to give our ideas to them. In the end THEY have to balance and implement it. Common sense stuff.

Great idea OP, could really work out well.

What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

This won't happen anyway, as starting cities are supposed to be save for new players.
Even the XI manual said so. I guess it's the same with XIV, though, I really like the idea.
