I think what really needs to change is the notion that someone can't improve without some form of external quantifier beyond what you can see in everyday execution. I'm not that different from the ex-lalafell, I've been gaming for decades and not once have I needed some calculator hovering over me to improve. I just play, keep an eye out for what hits harder in what order, repeat it and if it's consistent I remember it. If not, I try a different routine. It's not that hard to do. If someone suggests a different way I give it a try and give credit where credit is due if it works for me. If not, or if it's something I'm already doing, I still thank them for the suggestion. But it's still all very capable without a parser. All a parser is is a calculator. If you need a calculator to improve that's fine, more power to you, but don't assume noone else can't without it.
