The topic derailed and turned for the worst... I would like a personal or toggles blessed parser too. But neither side is willing to compromise as always.

Heck I am all for a personal parser, even a toggle one for party finder, but it seems that is not good enough for the pro-parser group either.
For me, less so that it is not good enough, and more so that I can foresee there being a lot of issues with that. I don't see those same issues from coming up with a group parser.
I'd be down for a toggle parser, but it should be usable whenever/wherever. Limiting use will just frustrate people.

Just trying to find a some what of a compromise. I know what parsers or more in line people have done with parsers in other games and how it effected the community and would hate to see the same thing happen to this game. At least a personal or toggle parser with SE policy at least is something in the middle. You will never get both sides to agree on either the far left or far right arguments. Man this is starting to sound like politicsFor me, less so that it is not good enough, and more so that I can foresee there being a lot of issues with that. Definitely. I am all for a compromise, I just feel that adding it in parts (or not fully) will only exacerbate the problems that the 'anti-parser' crowd fears. This will only serve to 1. increase harassment and 2. feed the idea that all parsers are bad.Just trying to find a some what of a compromise. I think a better solution would be to add it full as a group parser that can be toggled on and off anywhere. Put in strict ToS regarding the use of the tool, with perhaps a legalese-free option to read (as most people don't read formal ToS's). The only term I can think of is pretty much already in the ToS (don't abuse/harass other players), but if you can think of anything else, I am all ears. Then the punishments for breaking the rules go in steps
1. Formal Warning,
2. Temporary removal of parser on account,
3. Temporary ban from game,
4. Permanent removal of parser on account,
5. Permanent ban from game.

Personal parser no. For the fact that it hinders group analysis compared to what the third part apps can do. PS3/4 players still won't have the same tools and raid groups will still use a 3rd party app for analysis. People can still be exclusive by asking for proof of dps and parses (I don't care about this at all) which is a worry for some of the anti parser crowd. Its not really good enough because if it gets in the way of group analysis and looking at the whole picture (phase breakdowns etc), it just won't really be used. Step in the right direction, sure. Better than nothing, absolutely. Helpful to serious groups, not so much.
I think you'll find the pro parser crowd a lot more amenable to a toggle-able type of capability though what benefit the toggle truly provides is debatable other than allaying some fears upfront. The result is most likely a more visible division in player base that will be starkly apparent in game. For instance any EX primal and higher group I put together it would always be toggled on. Some may not like that I am being "exclusive". Which for the record, doesn't bother me. I think those you'll find mainly against the parser toggle are not the pro-parser community but the padded room community. For me, if this is the "compromise", sure because it doesn't really compromise anything. It's more just a why? As it seems more like a compromise for compromise's sake than actually bringing a benefit to those who have anti parser view points. Though if you have some reasons for this helping, please share.

FFXIV devs should really give us the ability to use mods easy, like WoW, but that'll probably never happen.

Heh, that would really open the floodgates of tears.
Some people already call console players disadvantaged. Now imagine you don't have one, but dozens of external programs that console players have no access to unless they're integrated into the core game.
A personal parser is better than nothing for the console community, I can search or ask friends for what the expected dps for my ilvl.
Fights that require everyone to be on their A game should have a group parser in my opinion, you can't trust people to be honest with their personal parser results, just create a farm pf and watch newbies join, or a kill group for thor ex and watch your group wipe to meteors or below.
If we get one thing, at least a personal parser please. That way me and like minded players can actually improve.
