SE Just Remove Specialist Recipes Please

I was hoping to see something more inspired than what I logged into this morning. But alas its just as terrible as I feared.

BSM is the required specialist for ARM. There are no weapons, or ANYTHING of any value to itself.
ARM is just all the base armor blocked by requiring BSM specialization.
CUL is ONE recipe for the best crit food?
CRP we can see Cassia Block (another potentially gating item?) and some furniture.

All the other specialist recipies are core gear and GLAMs? Really?

    ---

This mess is EXACTLY what we DID NOT want SE. We don't want material gating from one class to another. We don't want core equipment gated (even if its terrible). Personally I was expecting specialist recipes to be reserved for glamour and furniture items.

What you've done on the other hand sucks, and is going to cause more anger than anything else. Its not healthy for the economy, your player base or useful in any way. Please reconsider this specialist recipe mess.

Not for casters though. Just for non-casters.

I cordially disagree. Call me selfish, but due to my wife and I working closely together and both being omnicrafters, I am OK with the current Specialist system and recipes. The Specialist system does seem to need more development, and hopefully we'll see that in 3.23.15 in December or 3.2 next year.

I do understand that others will have legit reasons to disagree.

I feel the need to correct you. Big patches are released approximately every three months. So 3.2 will not arrive before February. What you mean is patch 3.15 (introduction of the relic weapons).

As for specialisation. I thought all big crafters had lots of alts? The recipes are easy and needed some kind of gate. It's better than a weekly gate if you ask me...

See that's almost like saying I have two accounts though. Because between you two you have 6. So the current changes have relatively little impact on you. All the current system does is annoy anyone who doesn't like or want to partner with someone else to make extra items.

IF IF IF, they had made a distinct number of interesting items available to all specialist skills, and the selection had good meaning then they would start to have something to really segregate and force crafters to focus... with this said I'm not jump up and down a fan of such a system simple because they started in the world of omnicrafting and I prefer it that way. Its hard to give up a huge chunk of crafting unless I gain some meaningfully bonus out of doing so. Right now there just appears to be no bonus. It just feels kind of sucky.

I actually agree with Silverbane. Also, you can choose 3 specialists, so obviously you'll to choose 3 that work well togheter (arm+blm or ltw+wvr) if you play solo.

It's the stupidest way they could've moved the specialist system. The abilities still suck, the work/reward ratio is still too ridiculous, and classes like CUL and ALC get no benefit at all from it.

They even missed the opportunity to help the commodities markets (potions, food) by allowing CUL/ALC specialists to increase their yields per craft. So disappointing.

I am annoyed with it to. They should only have put glam items in specialist recipies, not mats or gear.

I don't use any of the specialist skills. I don't need them for anything. I can already craft 2 star Master level 3 items without them. I don't see much use for the Specialist system as it exists now.

I love the specialist exclusive recipees.
Forces you to do 2 things: Either level alts (which is something many high end crafters already have anyway) or to... You know... Interact and trade with others... OMG, Social and economical interactions in my MMORPG.

i185 is mostly glamour tbh, the rest are housing items.
