We need the tax. Hell we need a way to decrease the gill in the game. Some people are sitting on 2-3 billion gill on balmung since 2010 days. More money sinks.

Actually if you sound enough cash in one go to another character, Blizzard's system will auto lock your account for odd activity. I know one person named TarouWoWGuides had that problem often.I never pay the tax, I refuse. Wow does not have a gold trading limit and that game works just fine. SWTOR does not have a limit on subscribers. Countless other MMORPGs do not have a stupid trade limit. Ill deal with this stupid limit and trade 1 mil gil 10 times if I have to in order to alleviate a tax.
WoW solved the problem of gold selling (somewhat) with their WoW Tokens. There's a official source to purchase gold now, using secondary sites now is just risking it.
Every time I see a spam bot sitting unmolested for hours by the market boards doing its spiel, it tells me that SE doesn't give that much of a damn about RMT, and makes the restrictions that were stabs in the dark trying to curtail it but only ended up inconveniencing players all the more unreasonable.
Which didn't really solve much because Blizzard mostly said, "Hey these people are selling gold, but we aren't making money. That's not right, so we'll make them pay $20 for 20k (Last I checked anyways) that can't go wrong because this way it's legal."
But that's looking it from a, "We want to stop bots" issue, which wasn't actually the case due to one exact character name showing up in trade for months. They did it because their subs were dropping and it's basically a $20 sub if someone pays for it. So they're banking off of it. Remember they didn't mind the first huge drop because they didn't lose much due to the store and areas that had a sub cost increase.
SE does not have the numbers that they supposedly tout as actual subs. 4 million accounts but I doubt more then 1.5 or two million accounts active at most.
Just as a heads up, when you are purchasing big ticket items, look at the symbol for the city that the seller is in. Teleport to that city and buy the item from the market board there and you do not have to pay a tax, all this costs you is the price of a teleport.
Well those RMT are paying for the game so its a love hate relationship, but mostly hate.
I wonder what people buy when they have to trade more than 1 mil gil at once which cant be handled via marketboard
selling companys and houses/plots is forbiden anyway and selling ex primals/savage alex is probably also a grey area, so the devs couldnt care less about it
not to call you a liar, but i find it hard to believe that anyone would earn 40 million gil over 7 months from pretty much dungeons alone, seeing as how most mobs give 50-180 gil each.
