Wait getting banned for this is a thing! I'll be moving my main to a new server in teh coming days and because i can't take my gil with me, and I can't find a single thing that isn't cheaper on the server I'm moving to, I was going to get a friend to help me transfer my gil to my alt that is remaining on Sarg.

I could end up getting banned for this ?

Why not just buy the Allaghan coins on your server, and then NPC them when you get to your new one? That's what most rich people do.

you could also gain temporary permission to use your FC's gil storage to transfer any amount you wanted to your mule.

I can't really say for certain on that, but I have heard rumors and stories of some players being flagged when they move around/obtain a lot of gil in a short amount of time.

Most RMT stories I've heard about (from buyers, mind you) involved getting the money by overpricing an item on the marketboards. Because nothing is preventing you from charging some millions for an item noone want anyway, and nothing is preventing you from buying that overpriced useless item either.

The 1m gil limit is just useless.

I wouldn't worry too much. I've traded large sums of gil around my Free Company and Square had me change my password before logging in shortly thereafter (I assume as a built in safeguard in case your account was hacked), but a password change was the end of it. Businesses, as a general rule, want to make money and a ban effectively ends the money making, so its unlikely they will ban someone without proper cause.

I think 5 mil is reasonable. 1 miles is definitely a low amount.

I looked into the coins when I was switching servers due to the chaos move. Do you realize how many that would take? And people don't always sell them close to cost. That method is hardly practical.

No? becaue you haven't told us how much gil you have. how could anyone besides you know how many it would take..? It is more practical than losing almost all of your money during the move.

As someone who has switched servers I agree. Its incredibly impractical. Not only was there never enough coins on the market but the price was so inflated on most of them I would only get 25% of my millions back. I ended up just buying items that sold for close to the same price or higher. Got 80% or so of my gil back.

    Back on topic.

Yes 1 mil is incredibly low and it's not going to stop RMT lol. Just remove or raise the limit. It's so silly.

Obviously it hasn't stopped them, but it has inconvenienced them. And if they attempt to move more than a the limit, be it multiple trades or what have you, they put a spot light on themselves and their customers. This is the point of the limit and I'm willing to suffer it if it means that.
