    That's actually totally incorrect - the Agrius didn't fire on the Archons in that scene - Gaius had another airship hovering above and behind him which he called in to support him (you could even see it in those scenes), and it was this that fired on the player and the Circle of Knowing:




    It was still an awesome scene nonetheless.
