I'm curious to see what type of input I'd get on here about this. With the PS3 release coming at some point and the Vita being a capable and connected system, if SE ever considered making this for Vita, would you buy it?

I mean, it looks as if XIV ihas undergone a fair amount of changes and the momentum doesn't seem to be stopping. In my opinion, what better way to get some more exposure on this installment than to have a portable version where you can take your characters with you?
My main concerns (probably should have mentioned this earlier) are if the primary portable market would understand a pay model (when XIV goes back to a subscription) and if the card/cartridge-based media may be susceptible to any exploits.
God yes!!!!!!
I've been wanting a good portable MMO for a long time.
FFXIV for Vita? I'll buy it in a heartbeat.
Buy it on Vita and play without a keyboard? Yeah, no thanks.
An MMO on a hand-held? You're kidding, right?
Well, when it comes out on PS3, it's in a sense going to be without a keyboard as well. With the Vita, you have two touch interfaces that can be used for an on-screen keyboard not unlike most phones today.
If I recall, there are also some MMOs available on Android's marketplace. With SE's idea of keeping XIV still accessible to the casual market, having this pick-up-and-go/play in interval approach would work on a handheld, in my opinion.
An on-screen keyboard would only get in the way. Besides, the point is that a keyboard is much more efficient than whatever buttons the Vita (or any pad) can offer for gameplay. The fact that you can't have a single button/combination for each ability slows you down as you need multiple taps to navigate the action bars and macro palettes.Well, when it comes out on PS3, it's in a sense going to be without a keyboard as well.
