We are not talking about others final fantasy games, we are talking about FFXIV, a MMO game. Sometimes, players forget what kind of game they are playing. This is not a single player! This is not FFXI or FFIII or FFVII. Only thing in common is the universe. Trying to compare a single game with a multiplayer game is dumb and silly. In a MMO, you need coordination, others player to colaborate, communicate and work together to complete the goal. I hate so much when a player think this game is a single player, enter a duty and doesn't care about the others 3-7-23 players.

A MMO takes the same formula (effort + time invested = reward). With Diadem, They removed the Effort from the equation. And no, i am unable to accept Diadem needs effort or same coordination as Savage need.

Diadem is like -"Hey our static is unable to defeat Livin liquid, are you wanna help us?"- And then you enter A3S, instead with 8, with 16 man.

PS: Seeing you got "like" probably as the OP said, OF is full of casuals and final fantasy lovers, with zero interest about how a MMO works.

I have a suggestion: let's stop this stat inflation. There is too much emphasis on gear and too little on players' skill.

Imagine how great the game could be if instead of gear based dps checks, we would have checks based on player's skill. Instead of waiting weeks for upgrades, we could finish the content as soon as we master it. That would be awesome in my opinion and it would also promote better creativity on developers' side.

Yup, most players of FFXIV are FF fans, because this game was supposed to be an ode to the franchise. Judging by your sign, making low of game lore and all, you're the one in the wrong game, not us.

MMOs are grindy for the most part, rarely are the exceptions that gate things using hard contents instead of time-sinks. And by the way, not only the forum is full of "FF Lovers", but the whole game too. The real minority in the playerbase are hardcore raiders, so OF COURSE a vast amount of content will be focused on the majority.

First I don't think it's fair to compare Alex first 5 turns to the entire Coil series. If you are going to make a comparisons, story wise, than it's should be first bind coil to first Alex. Second I do think SE screwed up on Savage by copy and paste normal fight with more damage. You can have the same boss but change the encounter gimmicks and environment. It should be a new experience for raiders.

If players that enjoy hard content are only 1% of the player population and savage is the only hard content around and creates difficulty to reward balance issues, clearly the solution is to eliminate the hard content. It's only for the 1% so it shouldn't be a big deal.

When there's no more hard content, SE can freely hand out gear rewards at ilvl cap in anyway they please and it wouldn't matter and the majority of the player base will be pleased. Dungeons, 24 man raid, 8 man 'normal' raid, diadem and whatever else giving out maximum ilvl item? Doesn't matter cause any difficulty difference between those will be inconsequential. That's the way the majority likes it and that's the way SE should go. Then it would all be balanced: you don't have to try in any of the content but you can get the strongest gears in any of the content. Perfect.

Players who don't like this and prefer a reward system that scales properly with difficulty should suck it up. Don't unsub though. Cause that'll be bad for SE. They need all the money they can get.

I had my hopes up for Diadem and it wasn't what I expected. I expected it to be as epic as Dynamis was pre-nerf. Void Ark is way more interesting to me than Alex Savage and Diadem combined lol. Thordan is okay. Even though Diadem is more efficient to farm, after the first run I stopped. Void Ark might not be as efficient but it's way more interesting which is the reason I get my twines from there and just keep upgrading my Eso that way. I've never felt more uninterested in an MMO before. I've started to think that maybe that's just the way Yoshida wants the game to be, so we don't become too attached/hooked. Maybe he doesn't want another FFXI and instead, a friendlier(albeit uninteresting) game that doesn't make you too addicted. I guess that's okay with me (I think I've just been giving up on hopes for the game to be epic), just keep it interesting at least. (I don't know what I'm saying anymore, I'm just rambling, tired from work).

As a casual/social player I've never once complained about not having BiS (outside of the ludicrous gil sink that is pentamelding) and I think that most casual players agree. We'll gear at our own pace and challenge content when we get around to it. It's disheartening to see that there is so much internal feuding that's completely instigated by vocal minorities on both the casual and Hardcore sides.

I've only spent about half an hour in the Diadem, I'll probably go back for Pegasus but I don't really care for the RNG loot pinata, I'd much rather gear up in Alex NM on my alts.

Raiders got exclusive access to high lvl gear before anyone else for months and yet other players shouldn't get it cause they didn't put in the time to raid UM no, SE knows that they need to provide alternatives to the folks that don't raid....

And guess what your still ahead they don't get dips yet but you can...you still get more opportunities to upgrade your gear through savage as well...

Reading these posts. It totally reminded me why I left raiding. Such mentality is toxic in my opinion.

I am one step away from cancelling my sub after several years of service. 3.0 wasn't what I expected. At all. The raid is bad and the best gear is gathed behind, as you said, Diablo 3-like grind. I'm actually playing Diablo 3 right now and I'm having more fun. In Hyperion, no one is bothering with raids anymore but VERY small groups. Most of my friends quit at this point too, because of this formula that is getting old right now. I always knew this patch in between raids were a "catch-up" patch, but SE literally dropped the ball here, invalidating other forms of content with this faulty and boring Diadem.
