Spell Speed / Dot Damage?

Any workout the formula for this? Is it important to the damage a caster does?

ATM Spell speed really isn't doing to much as far increasing dps.... BLMs, SMNs and healers will not see to much of difference atm until we start getting 220ish gear. Mainly bc they increased the value % when 3.0 came out. But yea Spell Speed will be a nice dps increase around 220 to 230 gear. I am hoping to get off 3 to 4 fire 4's within 1 astral fire timer then pop bliz 3 then go right back to fire 3 + 2 fire 4's while still in the 1st 20 secs of enochian count down. That would be a sweet dps boost and nice change up in the rotation.

So to answer your question yes Spell speed will eventually be a nice dps boost but atm its a slight increase.

It already is an increase on DoTs. Not a huge but it is. You are thinking as a BLM that just chain casts. Spell and Skill speed both effect dots now as well so it has an added value outside of chain casting.

I know someone was doing comparisons on nin with low and high skillspeed so I assume could probably find the same for SMNs and for HOTs.
