    help with a new laptop

Looking at getting a new laptop after my old one got fried a few months ago. Been looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834232849 and I'm just wondering if anyone here has something similar and how well it runs the game. Also any insight from the more tech savy would be helpful.

Friend of mine has something similar from MSI (MSI GT 72), and it runs the game fully maxed out on DX11 / 1080p / 60fps without issues

If memory serves me right that's the newer version of the GL551JM That I'm using. I can run the game on max settings with no problems as long as I have object quantity on high (instead of max) and set max FPS to 30. The system will push out a lot (and I mean burn your fingers/legs lot) of heat from the exhaust on max settings though.

And a tidbit about Asus. Don't upgrade your drivers through anybody but asus, unless you want see driver crashes.

Actually, FF XIV doesn't require much.

I´m currently abroad for a few months, and I'm running it in a 400$ laptop, hahaha. And without problems. ( 1366 x 768, but the laptop screen doesn't allow more anyway)

I tryed the benchmark and had a good performance for High settings... (But I have a few things a bit lower, just in case)

So... Yeah, it will run well in that forth times more expensive laptop XD

That laptop is a lot faster than mine. I can run it 1080p @ medium-low with ~50-60fps (GTX765M) except in prime time Idyllshire or Diadem with lots of mobs and skills being used, where it dips to ~30fps.
The real performance eaters are shadows and ambient occlusion, which I have turned down/off.
The Asus in the OP should be able to handle the game with settings maxed, I'd imagine.

I've got an MSI GE62 and it runs the game on Max settings. Sound isnt the greatest, but sound usually never is on a laptop. External speakers or a headset work just fine though.

    Specs here for comparison: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834152903
