    2 star rotation help

Let me preface this by saying I screwed up my melds months ago and never felt the need to fix them. My stats are 718 crafts, 695 control, 377 cp Now instead of wiping and remelding to fix them I'm just gonna craft some new 2 star accessories to push my cp up to where it needs to be to get some decent 2 star rotations going.

I was successful tonight in making a HQ astral birch ring on my second try using this awful rotation I came up with:

I am now up to 388 cp and wondering if anyone can suggest some improvements to this rotation to ease up on the struggle ahead of me to achieve my goal of newly melded 2 star accessories?

I have just created a 2 star rotation guide only a short while before you posted your thread here. So you might wanna go there to check it out.

As for your rotation, it's definitely not a good thing to use MusMem, PBP, Rapid Syn and Ingen2 all in one rotation. You are sacrificing precious cross class slots for progress, and yet the progress done here is still of great risk and extremely CP-heavy. 6 CP on MusMem, 30 CP on PBP, and another 32 CP for the last CS II.That's 68 CP used for progress. Even with my maxed CP stats, 68 would still be too much of a burden. You current method also takes 6 steps to complete the item (with 80% success rate on RS, meaning like 7 steps). That's way too much durab wasted on progress. Not to mention both your PBPs are unprotected, meaning you may potentially lose even more CP and durab.

I recommend getting rid of MusMem, Rapid Syn and Ingen2 from your cross class panel, and add back in MaMa, Flawless S and either Innovation (lumber) or Reclaim (final product).

Currently, your rotation only allows you to reach IQ9 (assuming every single Hasty touch of your 8 touches landed). Thus, it's almost impossible to confidently HQ anything. Usually someone with minimal stats requires at least IQ10 on the Byregot to HQ a 2 star item. Thus, you need to work with a better rotation that can potentially give you IQ11 (at least 11 touches, assuming 2 will blow up, and making up one with Precise Touch... so yes, you need CP for that). Then you may end up with IQ10 in the end.

Again, please see Rath's rotation that I have detailed in my new Step-by-Step 2 star crafting guide and my FF14 Heavensward Crafting Guide Ch49. By reducing the amount of CP and steps spent on progress, you will gain the needed extra touches to reach higher IQ.

Other minor things in your rotation include not needing an SH II near the end, but just SH. Alternatively, if you shuff the last Hasty Touch into the final Byregot phase, then you can let Ingen2 cover that 1 extra touch for a little bit more quality (but then you need to keep SH II). Anyway, if you use Rath's rotation, then you won't have to fix these little things.

So your CP is 436 with food? If you can get to 437 my rotation in Caimie's guide, or in Jade-Nephrites 2 star crafting topic on this forum will get you where you need. The stats required are minimum, besides the 437 CP. There are other rotations in these forums as well, but they require much higher stats usually. The rotation I made is pretty much what I do for any 1 star or 2 star (for 1 star I just require less FS success).

I have never made a NQ 2 star finished product as of yet and I only use HQ mats that I craft. No HQ sea/land/earth aethersands. I suggest practicing the rotation on skypirate gear since it is much much much cheaper to make and has the same requirements. Aim for 1500-2500 starting quality when you are making a finished red-scrip item, but practice skypriate gear with the cheapest recipe on your server that you can do (as it requires being a specialist).

As you practice you will get a feel for what these crafts generally go like, and what works when things don't go quite right. Once you are confident in making skypirate I would start making your 2 star red scrip materials for your gear. If you can HQ half of them, and HQ the rest of the craftable mats, that should give you 1500+ starting quality and make it fairly easy.

Last thing is reclaim. I feel like reclaim is a crutch that leads to people relying on it to save them when they make bad decisions. The more you manually craft, the easier crafting anything becomes.

As for your particular rotation with your current CP.

1.) You use RS, PbP, CS2, and MuMem for progress. You can change MuMem and RS for FS and Maker's Mark to save 10 durability. Just do MaMa CZ SH1 PbPx2 FSx11. It rquires 17 more CP then your start but ensures PbP doesn't fail. Aim for 9 successful FS. This is also the method used in my rotation, but it is the most efficient startup/guaranteed progress method with such a low CP cost.

2.) You can finish your synth with 3 cs2 now. So you can refresh CZ and put up IQ before starting your SH2+WN+HT spam followed by 2 CS2 to leave you with 10 dura and then MM2

    3.) Refresh CZ SH2 HTx5 SH GS ING2 BB CS2

This method gets you 9 HT and leaves you with 12 CP. Slightly better then your current version but much better progress. I would still just get 1 more CP and do my rotation as it has the same progress and more HT.

Thanks for the replies/suggestions. I'll struggle through one more astral ring to get the 1 cp I need then switch to Rath's rotation. Looks like I'm in better shape then I thought.
