If you say about lore, do you remember while on level 50 HW quest Y'mhitra curious why we cannot use Leviathan, Ramuh, and Shiva right?I don't agree with having detailed Smn pets. Egi's exist because you summon a sliver of power from Primals to assist you in battles. They take that incomplete form to show you that. Anything more detailed than that creates lore problems and quite possibly lag issues.
This was answered by Y'mhitra during the quest "I Could Have Tranced All Night" (Lv.58 SMN quest).
And I quote:
"(...) When you summon an avatar, you draw upon your body's reservoir of aether to grant life and form to what is known as an arcane entity─that much we already knew.
I had, however, overlooked the simple fact that our aetheric reserves are finite─thus the magnitude of egi that you are able to summon is limited by the extent of your own life force. Simply put, if the egi is too powerful, then the summoning fails...
But do not despair! The summoners of Allag devised a method by which one might circumvent this intrinsic limitation.
Rather than attempt to summon a separate, physical manifestation of certain egi, the most accomplished mages discovered that far less aether was required to infuse themselves with the essence of a primal's power.
The technique by which a summoner would achieve this heightened state was known as a “trance.” (...)"
So...basically we don't have enough spare aether within us to create yet another independent Egi (ie. Summon IV).
But she didn't say anything about altering what we already have...
Especially since, after completing the SMN quests, she suspects there are still some other secrets regarding summoning that are yet beyond our grasp.
