They'd need to be given more animations, especially Ifrit. Compared to Egi, the minion barely has any arms and legs (and Ifrit-Egi has a lot of movement with his arms). Garuda could do with a smaller head, too (I personally am not a fan of chibi stuff).
I am curious to what the Egi glamour will be like aswell, I hope it will be more than just recolored Carbuncles but I do welcome every bit of customization when it comes to my class.
I know the reason they keep telling us that the Egi looks the way they do and there size is to not clutter the screen of glowing summons and it can be distracting.
So thats why I keept thinking, what if Egi's had a new form, like a spectral version of there real form thats kinda see-through ish, just smaller in size, though I'd love to have a full size Ifrit walk after me.
I can only keep dreaming, but a more legit way to give us new Egi's is to let us change the look of Egi, say a Shiva Egi but it does the exact same thing as Garuda, or Ravana to Ifrit, same type of skills as what we have, just different look to make every summoner look more unique in terms of customization to there liking.
I understand the lore behind the Egi is that we summon a fraction of there essence that let us manipulate the element and give it commands and it listens. wouldnt it then be possible from a lore point that, rise in level cap, the summoner is more experienced, more capable at control of aether and energy, therefor giving us the ability to summon a more "complete" more detailed version of the Egi that is still under our control?
We take in Bahamut essence into our very bodies and use his energy for attacks for crying out loud, how is that not proof enough how the summoner has evolved in terms of control of the aether.

I just hope they actually give us more Egi to play with that have unique abilities.
I do want to have those Primal minions as summons though. The Egi we have now are also "chibi" anyway.
I'll just leave this here... don't mind me... just passing by...

SMN evolution lore wise is recognising the limitations of Egi as a whole, and instead of spending your own aether transmuting Primal essence into a controllable pet it's far better to just tap into that essence directly and use it to augment your existing attacks while creating new ones. So in that sense, creating a more 'complete' Egi would be taking a step backwards.
No please I like my egis.
What they need to do is to get Titan more dungeon/raid friendly... That egi seems obsolete
I don't get all these people and their objections.
Isn't this post specifically for planned GLAMOURS? So... if you don't want to use it you don't have to.
If you want the same default looking Egis, you have now, you're more than welcomed to keep them.
Don't use the glamour if you don't like them.
I personally think the more glamour options for these pets the better, but I do hope they add a "remove glamours" option on settings. The ability to toggle glamours on or off in your settings menu. If you had the glamours on, you can see everyone's glamoured gear/pet glamours. If you had it off, you would only see the default armor/pet glamours.
oh gods yes pls SE give us more egis or just skins i don't care and fix the existing ones at that, they are terrible, i mean ffxi is 15 years old and still has better summons than this ffxiv smn, i mean what happened? who had this idea????????
Player
Ifrit on that pic is a pet - high geared weaver can craft it already with 3.1
So, i guess the others are pets too...

Someone didn't read the OP. They were asking if the egi's could be as detailed as the minions, and showed pictures of the minions as reference.
