One critical piece of information missing in the announcement of subscription fees

Not sure why subscriptions are starting, but there's already a thread on that.

Instead, I wanted to bring to light that we still don't have information on something very crucial to whether or not many will pay: billing options.

Personally, I don't understand why after paying Square-Enix directly for seven years in XI that I'm now expected to allow some unrelated company to profit on converting my money to a foreign currency to be able to then convert it again to non-refundable monopoly money (Crysta).

If Crysta is here to stay, is there at least any signs that I'll be able to buy it directly with my debit card and not have to deal with a shady middle man?

You've Spoken and We've Heard You

You, the community, have clearly expressed your dissatisfaction with our billing system transition—and we are listening. We now understand that the options we presented you did not meet the level of service you have come to expect from Square Enix, so we have been working hard to address these concerns.

Accordingly, we will be extending the transfer cut-off date until we are able to implement the following improvements:
- New credit card payment options for Crysta [Available Now]
- The ability to specify exactly how much Crysta you want to buy [Early Fall]
- New recurring payment credit card options [Mid Fall]

We hope these steps show our ongoing commitment to you, our fans. It is our goal to make the FINAL FANTASY XI experience as fun and rewarding as possible.

Also in the days to come we'll reveal details for new offers and incentives to help ease your transition to the new system.

For FFXI, but I don't see why they wouldn't use this for XIV as well, since they are improvements to the same account system. (Square Enix Accounts)

Okay, but it's mid fall and they're going to start charging before fall is over. I've seen that announcement but with SE it isn't certain till it actually happens.

1. Quit and whine like a girl
2. Keep your mouth shut and use whatever they give you cause youre gonna play anyway. And whining is pointless

Kind of bitter there, but you're right. The base of every choice in life is "do or don't." but I have a feeling a lot more people will "take it and smile" if SE uses a little lube -- i.e. Payment methods that make sense.

and second I WILL NOT use Click and Buy not now not NEVER! I refuse to use this horrid method of payment no matter how much I like or dislike FF14. In any case I guess only time will tell

Ive still got 5000 Crysta from CE launch, don't even have to worry till summer 2012.

Would like to keep playing but only having 1 payment option available to me is lame, at least let me use paypal not this click and buy crap.
