they really didnt, they just did what they had to do, releasing a 80 dollar game then closing up shop would have been way worse that anything else for thier company and brand.
Yes they apparently have done development behind the scenese for a year
but they are a game developer, the current norm is that a game developer do behind the scenes work for years then release the game and make money.
They havent really done us any favors, however, i m not against them charging, i just think they as a marketing move should do this either just before or just after the jobs are released, because that is a better hook and market than within a month, the next patch is kind of bleh, its just a finishing patch mostly. achievements crafting and adjustments, thats hardly a best selling patch.
Even if they dont do the patch, i dont think they should start charging for 2 months, i think a month is short notice, and i hope they dont start auto billing people, and rather require them to actively pay again, because im sure many people may have forgotten to properly cancel billing in the long hiatus.
